You sound like you might still be pretty young, like early twenties or younger and in today's world it is not surprising you're questioning gender issues.
It's been a major topic now for somewhere around 12 to 20 years. Schools have been in turmoil about what to teach and when to teach kids about sex and gender issues. Parents and the general population including media have been pushing gender issues since mid nineties at least.
I come from a time that most people weren't even aware or concerned with gender, sexual preference issues until at least puberty. If they did think about it at a younger age everyone basically blamed the parental influence.
Yes there have always been girlie girls, gross(manly) boys, boys that were more feminine, and girls that like to play in the mud. A lot of those traits were traced to parents or social impacts.
There have been girls that thought parents(daddy) wanted a boy, I'd be loved more if I was a boy, and vice versa for boys. Mainly from what was considered a broken marriage or in today's world almost the normal situation. A lack of having the nuclear family both parents represented in the household.
Your statement about even at a young age you were looking in a mirror and didn't feel like a girl leads me to think there were some of these factors involved. If you were under 10 and having these feelings I would almost bet there was some gender programing going on by the adults around you. Maybe very subdued but even statements like girls don't do or must do certain things or act certain ways can have a big effect.
There is no mold you need to fit in, be yourself, the physical facts are if you were born with a vagina or a penis you are a female or male. You can elect to fit your or somebody elses concept or mold of what you think that means, or you can opt not to fit, or even try to change it to fit the mental mold you you have created.
IIN to not feel any identification with your gender?

Interesting. I know I always felt disconnected from my gender, but in a very active and conscious way lol

Or you can just accept you are you.
