Your thoughts on life? but not just your own

There have been many posts recently claiming the world is a horrible place that needs wiping out. This isnt one of those. I'd like to ask you all your thoughts on life. Is the world a harsh place? but is it filled with more pain than kindness or is there a greater sense of discovery and beauty that outweighs it all. I understand this is a very loose and unfocused question but so is life. no one person will ever have the same experiences in life as another, therefore there will be many different opinions of life. Hence the open ended nature of the question.
