Only ONE non-white country was listed.
And no one wanted to live in it.
Is it normal?
Too hard to choose. England is my home country and I honestly love it.
In a couple of years time I will be working in Greece for a while (which I love), in Spain (also great), hopefully I will get a work placement in Florida which I have never been to but looks great and I could even be placed in Lapland!
I'd love to live in Canada (never been to) for a while, because that's where my family come from.
I'd also love to live in France. Amazing country, love it so much. It's probably the only country apart from my own which I get that home feeling.
Gosh! That's so awesome.. I'm sorry but I've to ask, what line of work are you in..??
I would love to do something that involves so much travel! (:
I have another three years of study left. I don't think I'll be ready to settle into a serious career after that so for awhile I'm going to do a bit of holiday repping. It gives you a chance to live in different countries, meet tons of new people and party!
I might do some high season work next summer in Spain to see how I like it.
My favorite country would have...
- four seasons
- a strong economy
- low crime rates
- many personal freedoms for all citizens
- abundant clean bodies of water
- a national healthcare program
- English as the dominant language
- affordable housing
- quality education for all
- lots of natural beauty
Near Vancouver. The UK is a great place. What part of the UK are you from?
South West England, in The Cotswolds, Gloucestershire.
I expect you'd like the Lake District up north in England; lots of beautiful mountains, lakes, relatively cheap housing. Have to put up with a lot of rain though. Cornwall and Devon down south are good, plenty of sunshine (by UK standards), a lot of pretty beaches, a fairly mild winter and you can't beat a hot Cornish Pasty :)
I hear Vancouver is one of the best cities in the world to live in, though. So I suspect you've already got it pretty good? :P
I recently went to Germany and I was really impressed. Very friendly and hospitable people, a liberated and progressive society. The arts and culture make it a fascinating place to be.
But I love Australia and I can't see myself living anywhere else. I'm in a passionate love affair with this country.
Although my favourite country has always been Russia, Austria is very nice as well. The alps are amazing and so are the Krimml Falls. Also, unemployment is low (second lowest in EU after Luxembourg, I believe) and from what an Austrian student has said to me, the people are very nice; but they do not like The Sound of Music as much as we'd think they would haha.
Thailand has sex of all kinds and beautiful beaches. I go to Phuket and sometimes I go to Saigon in Vietnam from there. Beautiful place too. Lovely women, low prices for accommodation also. Great tours on the Mekong. There are a lot of things to do. Never boring, that is for sure.
I was walking down the street in Bangkok and a girl was next to me. Seemed like she wanted to hold hands. So I took her hand, walked a few blocks and bought her a pop at a 711. She stayed with me for two weeks and would have come back to Canada or gotten married anything. Free, just like I said and she was lovely. I intend to go back again. Phuket is another place in Thailand where I have had similar experiences.
The reason for that could be that most people here are from the states.
Yeah, Switzerland sounds good. : )
I'm surprised so many people voted for the USA. Why? I mean, I've never been there but so far I only hear negative things about it. It's not such a great place, I would never want to live there.
I voted for Switzerland, wich I think out of the listed options is the best choice. I've been there and eventough it's an expensive country it's got the best out of everything. Beautiful nature, the best healthcare in the world, little unemployment, good social services, what more can you possibly want?
Spain isn't listed! I want to live in Spain, enjoy the nice warm weather and party every day.
I'm from the states and that's why I wonder why anyone would want to come here. I'd go to Europe or one of the Oceania countries if I didn't have anything going on here.
Me too, it sucks here in the United States these days. I can't even afford to save the funds in order to get out.
Australia!
We went for 14 days.
We went parasailing...went to the zoo...snorkeling...watched a rugby game in the stadium...and lots of shopping. Have fun!!
Why didn't you put more countries in the options? Or do you just want to know out of that group?
I don't have a favourite country.
Out of your list:
Belgium: good chocolate. That's all I can think of.
Canada: I've heard there are some excellent cities to live in, like Vancouver. Would like to visit on holiday.
Australia: Interesting aboriginal culture (poorly treated in the past). Gave us Neighbours and Home And Away, but made up for it with Kath and Kim, Summer Heights High and Rabbit Proof Fence. Incredible wildlife.
India: Vast and crowded, but with an amazing and unique culture and history. Gave us affordable tea, some great food, some terrible Bollywood films. Still has a problem with poverty.
New Zealand: Sheep, Flight of The Conchords, L.O.T.R. Supposed to be a pleasant place to live, if a little detached from the rest of the world.
USA: entertains me with good television, films, websites. Has a disturbing foreign policy.
Germany: I don't know a great deal about life in Germany. I imagine it's pretty similar to life where I'm from, in the UK. Berlin seems like an interesting, open-minded city with a lot of history.
France: Good food, good hip hop. Some politics I disagree with (e.g. burqa ban). Never liked learning the language at school.
Luxembourg: Rich. That's all.
Austria: I don't know much about modern Austria. I think they still have that dumb policy of imprisoning holocaust deniers though.
Switzerland: High standard of living. Some pretty locations. I hear it's an expensive place to live.
Alrighty, but has anybody been to Vienna, Austria..??
I hear its pretty amazing too..!
I'm pretty sure there are more countries than 11.
Also I haven't been to any of those on the list so I can't judge but England, Japan, Spain and Australia seem cool.
Out of the ones I have visited, France and England. They were wonderful countries, there's not a single thing that I can think of to complain about.
No U.K. or Japan? o_O
I live in the U.K. and I love this magnificent country, but if I was forced to live anywhere else, I'd live in Japan - a beautiful nation of good health and culture. =)
I voted for France, because I also love France. =)
