You received the wrong order, what now?

If you were given the wrong take-out / take-away order, of approximately the same value as the one you ordered, and you didn’t realize it until you had already returned home to eat it, would you take it back or just eat it anyway?

Question for bonus points:
What would you do if the order you received was worth ten times as much as the one that you actually ordered and paid for?
**Your points will be tallied and filed accordingly**

Keep it and eat it. 30
Throw it out. 0
Take it back. 4
Give it to a homeless person. 4
Keep it but call the restaurant to inform them of the mistake 8
Other. 1

Are you even allowed to return food once you've taken it off the premises? :/

Policy is as you have a reset yes, though they never really check for it. So yeah.

This was almost two years ago. Well done.

Also: RECEIPT. Not "reset". Quite different words.

See how I always know it's you?

I hardly ever use that word. I had forgotten.

A lot of places in my area allow people to return or exchange the food whenever it's the wrong order. Though there are some places that are more than willing to refuse to refund or exchange and instead call the cops or threaten the customer with violence. lol

First bit is weird. Second bit is scary :/

Yeah. The first bit is kind of weird since anybody can just put crap in their food and make it look like it's the restaurant's fault so they'd score a free meal.
The second bit I usually see in restaurants that have roaches, rats, and HUGE leaks in the roof.

Yeah, pretty sure that's why (as far as I'm aware...) you can't do that here.

I've been to some shonky looking places but never that bad :/

    FU pay me.

Depends on how bad I got jipped. If it's minor i'd just be like fuck them and eat. If it's major I'm taking that shit back and probably getting my food spit in. Since I know that is likely the next step already... I'd just get my money back and go somewhere else.

Honestly I would either not eat it, go back and exchange it, or eat it and deal with the fact I got the wrong order.

Depends on the price difference. Most of the time, I just eat it. A chinese place just messed up my order and replaced my shrimp with the imitation lobster. It's still a giant box of fried rice, so I don't really care. If what I got was worth ten times more, I'd consider it lucky windfall.

Torture the cook to death and use his body parts for a satanic ritual.

If whatever I took is something I like, I'll eat it.
    If not, I'll return it.

If I was home already I would just eat it regardless of the situation. Probably wouldn't be a big deal so Im not gonna run back to the restaurant. Not worth it and a waste of time.

I'd just eat the food no matter what it was.

Probably eat it. Food is food

If the food they gave me was something that I would be fine with eating, I would keep it and eat it.

If the food was worth 10 times more, I probably would've noticed the size difference at the place and tell them there. If there's not a big size difference and I didn't notice it, I would keep it anyway and eat it.
No regrets. No remorse. No problem.

This happened to me recently... Some chick with my name picked up my Chinese food order. I actually would have just taken hers but we had to bring home food for 4 people. I'm not that bothered by it either way.

Depends on how hungry I am. I have food sensitivities and there are usually only one or two things in a menu I can eat. If they get it wrong, it is the difference between eating or wasting food. So I would likely go back. I really dont cs tree what monetary value is.
