You have one wish to remove moderated posts...

This is only for non-Gold members. Gold members have a separate version. The question pertains to the moderated posts only (not the unmoderated ones which only Gold members can see). The question is: If you are granted one wish and this wish allowed you to permanently eliminate a certain type of post, which type would you banish from the site?

If it were up to me, no one would ever ask "Is it normal that I haven't had a girlfriend/boyfriend and I'm _____ age?" and "Is it normal that I haven't kissed a girl/boy and I'm _______?" and we can't forget the famous "Is it normal that I'm a ______year old virgin?"

I swear if I have to read those questions again, I'm gonna run amuck! They get asked at least once a week.

Really? I've never seen advertising or trolls targeting a specific member (either by attacking or impersonating them) get through moderation, not once, although I'd certainly want remove them most if I thought they were a problem.

I'd get rid of anything that's fake. Stopping other types of question would make problems for OPs. In the end, incest stories just *might* be real and the OP just *might* need real advice, and stopping them asking their questions here goes against the whole reason the site exists; asking things you can't asking in real life. By now us commenters are probably all desensitised to them anyway; I don't even think they're disgusting anymore :P

I can easily handle all of these though. If you don't like them you'd be better off ignoring them :)

Apart from Necrocene's trolling which definitely looks like it targets a specific member, although it seems as if his account's already shut down :P

  • One more post about being a straight guy sucking cock and the site should explode. This covers more than one subject. 1) if you're a straight guy, you obviously won't want to suck cock. 2) it's been posted thousands of times.

Although you are quite happy for a straight girl to kiss other girls or explore her sexuality with other girls, I suspect!

I think its reasonable that many guys don't fully know that they are gay or Bi. I'm thinking a lot of rugged football players might be gay too (in the closet), as they pat eachother's asses from time to time.

      • Nope. Tired of those too. They've been asked 10000 times. Use the goddamn search bar. That was just one example of many.

This particular subject erks me because, whether you're a rugby player or a hairdresser...if you want to suck cock, you're not entirely straight. While there may be many steps between straight and gay...the opposite ends of that scale are what they are. If a man can be aroused by a woman, he's not entirely gay; if he can be aroused by a man, he's not entirely straight.

I have a gay friend of many years who admits outright that straight guys are a conquest...it would be a major turn on for him to try to seduce one. He has tried with me many times, but the fact is, a man's body is not even remotely erotic to me. Sorry...just a plain, simple, cold, hard fact. That doesn't make me a homophobe, I can watch him make out with his boyfriends without any more reaction than eyerolls (its annoying when hetero couples do that) it just defines my sexual identity.

I honestly believe that those particular posts are from gay guys trolling for stories from "straight" guys who want men...creating the ultimate oxymoron...but looking for jollies either way. That's why it's annoying.

By the way, I hope you weren't implying that I might be gay? Um yuk.
I don't even know why girls like guys! And I think that's also be asked before.

Anyway all of this offtopic, plus I'm not homophobic either because my brother is FULL on gay. Since I grew up with him I blame a broken relationship he had with a girl at about age 12 or 13. I know MOST say you are born with it, but I don't think so, not exactly anyway. Although it 'could' be in the genes (although my parents weren't gay either, from my understanding, even my Dad had a girl on the side once, so he couldn't have been gay), but THANKFULLY I missed out on getting this gene.

As for the posts here. Agreed a little boring over and over. But still you never know they actually could be sincerely a NEW member needing help. I decide when I read the post usually.

I'm REALLY tired of the "IIN to hate babies" and "IIN to not believe in God" posts. Those have been asked more times than I can count!
It's normal to not like kids. It's normal to not believe in God. Ask something fun for once!

I can put up with the silly, obviously fake troll ones.
I just can't stand the childish ones moaning about their high school problems. Okay, I've been to high school and you do have problems but I used a more suitable site like yahooanswers to get through that period of my life. As you get older, you realise high school problems are one of the most trivial things in the world. This site is for adults. We don't want to see childish things!

  • You forgot to mention the most infamous one that is repeated too much, the "IIN I have feelings for my friend", etc.
Whatever happens, for the love of God, get rid of those. If I have to see someone asking if it's normal to have feelings for someone else, I am going to blow my brains out.

    Anything obviously fake
I don't understand this choice? What may 'obviously' look fake, may actually be real.
eg: I like flying through space for real.
Answer: You have a problem with reality or you're an astronaut!

    The childish ones
I don't understand this choice? What may seem childish, may in fact be immaturity.
eg: My friend hates my hair color, what should I do?
As long as YOU are happy with the color of your hair then that's all that matters.

    Cruelty to animals
This is a common thing that people do in reality.
eg: Should I hit my dog on the nose to teach him?
No, dog schools never have that as a way of teaching dogs, please attend one.

    Bestiality stories
Many people are into beastiality (no idea why, but so be it)
eg: I'm in love with my dog and I want us to have sex together
That's not beastiality that's Zoophile. But thanks for asking :)

The adverts for bags and shoes
This is up to Admin to pay for this site, other sponsors are welcome
eg: I have Ads coming up, what should I do?
    Try running Adblocker

    The posts attacking IIN members
There is already a rule on this, note debating is not attacking.
eg: I don't like you, can you post on another topic?
No, I'll post wherever I like, you have the right to 'report' any post though

    Anything attention-seeking
Generally we all want attention, otherwise why even post a topic?
eg: Everone hates me, is there anyone that loves me?
You should first start by loving yourself

The ones pretending to be a specific IIN member
You cannot pretend to be another member, all names are unique
eg: ALI said this but ALLI said that, are they the same?
    No, they have different usernames

    Troll posts
Posts offtopic or without much useful input are not spam
eg: I agree with nothing anyone said!
    Really? Which part exactly?

The ones that have been asked before
People have similar situations but are NOT the same person
eg: My GF and i broke up, but I can't get over her
I'm happy to help, note this happens to 99% of people

    The unintelligible ones
IIN is universal, even in Non English countries. Plus not all can spell
eg: I wnt hlp wit mi prbm, Can u hel me
Can you ask someone with you to post the question in English?

    Incest stories
This may also be in the news from time to time
eg: I love my Mom in a sexual way
Your Mom and Dad are your parents, not sexual partners

    Anything regarding sex
There is already a 'Safe mode' for the highly explicit topics
eg: I like anal with my GF as she is being spanked by her GF
Woops, safe mode was on, I didn't even see this topic!

    Anything copied from another site
Anything copied from another site? YES please REMOVE this.
    1. Plagiarism is frowned upon and makes you look dumb
    2. Exact copies of recent topics on other forums can cause confusion and contradictory advice
    3. IIN is a community, sometimes the 'flow' of the posts can help find the true answer
eg: Didn't the other forum help you already?
Usually: No response, or require more help, please remove your original topic first.

    • I guess there are grey areas on most of my options. I don't want to bias the poll but I'll give examples of the kinds of things I meant.

      Anything obviously fake:
IIN I am immortal and have superpowers and a forty inch penis.

      The childish ones:
I can't think of a good example but I was thinking of childishness/churlishness as opposed to immaturity. Where something is deliberate as opposed to what can't be avoided.

      Cruelty to animals:
I hang my dog until it nearly chokes to death, then I let it down for a minute, then hang it again. It's super fun!

      Bestiality/incest:
No issue over the content and a healthy debate is a good thing but the stories here aren't debates; they're glorifying it and making people think it's normal and/or desirable behaviour.

      Adverts:
They can't be blocked because they're IIN stories, written as stories but actually adverts, i.e. "IIN I get my bags from johnsbagshop.com. 33% off!" These don't tend to be moderated, but I deliberately kept the options the same for moderated/unmoderated.

      The posts attacking IIN members:
IIN the user called "Dad" is a dangerous murderer? You may not have been attacked like this yet but many IIN users have. The sneakier ones get through moderation, like one last year about girls who like Pink Floyd all being sluts. It was quite obviously focussed at a certain IIN member and was a personal attack.

      Anything attention-seeking:
I was thinking more of the "Who is the best/prettiest/funniest IIN user?" There was one a while ago which just had two names, one of which was the OP.

The ones pretending to be a specific member:
Stories are anonymous so you don't need to pretend to have someone's username. Just ape their spelling, insert personal details that everyone knows, and then ask a question which makes them look bad. You've probably not been targetted by this kind of thing but plenty of people have.

      Troll posts:
They don't bother me if they're clever, but they bother some so I gave them the option.

The ones that have been asked before:
I've seen questions asked twice a day for a whole week. Some repetition is inevitable but where it's deliberate? Not good.

      Unintelligible ones:
The users for whom English isn't a first language either have near-flawless English or at least try to make themselves understood. I was thinking of the people who can't even order their thoughts long enough to write a question. It seems a common courtesy when you're asking for help.

      Anything regarding sex:
Again, just there because it's something people complain about rather than any problem I have.

        Read your reply 3 times

Only this seems wrong and should be moderated: Adverts, Attacking. (possibly non English as well)
I also mentioned Plagiarism, which should really be removed (in my view)

All others are beyond our scope of confirming if they are right or wrong, and should NOT be moderated. Including cruelty (of which people REALLY do) Bestiality (a HUGE accepted area on the net)Fake (beyond our personal judgement) all others - acceptable.

Edit:// (Moved not acceptable to first part, and acceptable to second paragraph)

I cannot judge others, for I am not them.

When I joined this website 98 years ago we had to send letters to each other. Every IIN question took several years to be resolved and often a number of the contributors died in the mean time. These are better days! Although I am very... VERY old now, and my pee bag is full.

Your question/statement was in regards to Gold membership and possible issues.

The topic here states: "This is only for non-Gold members. Gold members have a separate version. The question pertains to the moderated posts only"

The topic starter does not want any information post or statement, on 'Gold membership', either current or past. You can however bring up the relevant statement on the 'other topic', since your 'gold' question/statement would be relevant there.

Plus you stated you have 1 year of gold, but the topic starter has -confirmed- you have only been here for 2 months. You therefore are asked not to post on this topic.

        Comment Hidden ( show )
      • I've come to the conclusion that someone is thumbing things down pretty much randomly and looking at the responses they get. I don't think it's personal. Happens to me all the time on the least contentious replies.

What they may be doing is looking at people's reactions and the people who react most are obviously going to be the most fun to mess around with in the future. They may not be doing that, though. It might just be someone's idea of fun. Or some other experiment.

        Ignore it.
