Yeah, the fancy stuff in high society

Fancy stuff in high society, you know what I'm talking about, cigarettes smoked thru a cigarette holder, fancy wine, ultragourmet food and some people eat that, fine brand names like Gucci, Dior, and Marc Darcy London. Yet at the same time a good life like this is rare, it's for rich people. These people give up their old hobbies like art and writing books and instead take up fine hobbies like horse riding ๐Ÿ‡, polo, croquet, and ๐ŸฆŠ fox hunting, especially in Great Britain. The posh people might be ordinary men but posh people are different.

I've never known a person that rich. I had classmates who were pretty well off growing up and they were jerks to everything and everyone, the only stuff which mattered to them were the brand on their clothes.
I also dated a well off guy once. He was always trying his very hardest to appear insightful, honest and down to earth (while refering to himself as those things which is obnoxious and fake) all the while clearly believeing everything, including love, can be bought and getting offended at the mere idea that money couldn't be enough.
So yeah. That's my personal experience of people with money, they're massively shallow and self absorbed though as always there's probably exceptions. At least I always like to believe there's exceptions to every rule but I often get proven wrong.

I believe there really are exceptions to every rule, but my method is to have hope but not build expectations on that fact. Thin line. Plus it's not realistic given how probability works, and I'd just be setting myself up for disappointment.

Someone rich being grounded is one of the rarest things because it's almost a paradox 1) In order to be well-off, first the person has to be ambitious and self-serving enough to gain the wealth. And if they inherited or lucked out, then maintain or grow it which requires the same characteristics 2) Then they have to grow out of those traits, which are the primary reason they got to where they are. Getting rid of those "win at all costs" and "everything my way" mindsets is no easy feat. But it is not impossible as there are well-known examples in the world of people who are philanthropists.

I have very little taste for quality. I dont have a refined palate, food is food. I would be just as happy eating taco bell as eating at a Michelin restaurant. The quality I look for is in people and hobbies.

Ive always gotten along better with poor people and black people than rich ppl. Ive had a few rich friends that are cool but usually they seem more proper and put together. Not as fun to party with. Some of them even put off vibes that they're better than others. Ya know, giant stick up the ass type people.

Yeah, that's because weird guys are only concerned with being unique and not luxury.

They don't tell you but poshness is a mask for their previous lives of their old hobbies which they don't do anymore, posh people in high societies don't paint, they don't have politics, and they don't play football, instead they buy paintings, they have them on mansion walls, they have animal heads as trophies and they play tennis, a posh man doesn't drink beer and they don't eat simple foods, nor is any posh person who's not pseudo-posh ever a hedonist, rather they're aestheticists, they're just not artists, they're selfish people who only carry on with their good happy lives and money, I should know because I used to be posh and doing it wrong, I wasn't like any of these people.

Pleasures are bloody annoying, and if I did anything on weird occasions they get hateful on me, and it's pain and difficulty being liked and trying to have dignity, from my twenties in the first place I wasn't posh, but things were only magical for 2 and a quarter days before things got ugly, I'm trying to enjoy my life, and it's a bloody pain in the arse, nothing works!

I bought a bottle of Dom Perignon to celebrate the new millennium, New Years 2000. Fuck that. It was good but it wasn't worth it. Be a value shopper, especially for investments in stocks and bonds. My reluctance to spend money makes my wallet feel extra good next to my ass. *Belch*.

To each their own I guess. I'm attracted to simple things and minimalism regardless of bank balance. But at the same time it can be nice to spice things up with something "fancy" once in a long while just for the experience or taste of something different
