      Me too but I don't want to get in the way of his happiness. But how do I move on knowing my mother left to married someone else years ago and let him live his life? It's been the two of us for the longest. And why you think he didn't tell me until she was pregnant Am i overrating?

    Your Dad is entitled to be happy as well, instead of feeling remorse toward his relationship with this other lady, be supportive!

    Who knows you might still have a chance of life long friendship with her and your stepbrother to be!

    Yikes. It's not normal, no, and you certainly have a right to be angry...I think the lying is the worst part here. He should've told you sooner, but to be honest, the reason why he didn't is probably that he was afraid of how you'd react...he knew he was doing something wrong, and it can be hard to confess that to somebody.

    So, be angry, absolutely, get it out of your system. The worst thing would be to bury your feelings and try to act like you're okay with it when you're not. But she is an adult, it's not illegal, and they are having a child together, so they're probably going to at least have some kind of relationship for the rest of their lives. Once you get the initial shock and anger out of the way, you'll have to decide how involved you want to be. And there's really no right or wrong answer. Maybe you'll decide that you just can't support this kind of relationship, maybe you'll find a way to be happy for your dad and give his fiance/wife a chance, maybe you'll decide you want to help raise their child/your half sibling. It's up to you.

    Adjust your thoughts. If they're both adults it doesn't matter how old they are. My dad's wife is younger than me. 36 years between them. They've been happily married now for 20-odd years.

      But I was the only female in his life when my mom abandoned us when I was a child. Now I'm going to have a stepmother about a year younger than me. I seriously can't adjust. I always figured, young women married older men so they can take care of them but I can tell she loves him, I think lol.
