Wtf is with people leaving babies in cars?!

On average 30 babies per year die because some moron left them in a hot car. There is a big case in the news right now where it looks like the father premeditated to kill his child this way. But most cases that happen are called "accidents".
I don't get it?! How can a parent leave their baby in a car...the only way I can see it happening is if a senile grandparent forgets, or if the kid is in a van with a babysitter and there are a lot of other children.
Do these people subconsciously want to get rid of their kids?
I am sick of this happening I think there should be a mandatory jail sentence whether or not its an accident, its still negligence that resulted in a death.

    It's not normal and I think people should be charged with murder of an infant even if it was an "accident" There is no excuse for this.

    A stellar example as to why one must need lincensure to breed...to prevent garbage like this from happening. Yet any certification of any kind to be a parent would be 'infringing' on human rights...it's tragic how people would rather see babies and kids die or get hurt than ensure the child has a good parent to begin with.

      I hate to sound like a Nazi but I kind of agree, people who aren't fit to own a pet rock are popping out babies and that is not a good thing at all.

    It shouldn't happen. It doesn't really make sense for someone to forget. I never believe it when people say they forgot, how do you forget? I think it's an excuse. They assume the kid will be okay in the car, but they're not. Some woman and her friend left a baby in the car just so they could go shopping. I was happy to hear that both were charged.

      me too. If I saw a kid or even a dog in a car I would break the window and call the cops.

    I think there should be a mandatory jail sentence of 10 years for anybody who does this. If youre that stupid that you really did forget you don't need to be having any more kids anytime soon.

    I think that fatass toad you're talkin' bout did it deliberately for sure. It was no accident in his case and I hope they throw the book at him. I hope he burns in hell like that helpless child cooked in that car.

    I don’t subscribe to the "forgot" excuse. I think they 'chose' to leave the child in the car and claimed it was forgetfulness when they were caught, as if it made them less horrible.

    It is crazy. I heard this report that a gay male foster parent had one of his other foster kids in the car along with their baby. He takes that kid in the house yet, somehow leaves the baby in the car. Wouldn't the other child have said something? He apparently didn't remember the baby until he saw a news report and suddenly remember that he left it in the car. This would be later in the day and once the emergency services came, the baby was already dead.

    There was a man who did start a trend that went viral after he decided to sit in a hot car to prove how hot it could get in there. You'd think this would have stopped the occurrence but it hasn't.
