I cuss ..a little too much...but honestly to me they're just words. Who decided a long time ago what words you aren't suppose to say? "Star" could be a cuss word, and "shit" would be the meaning if we didn't know any better. It just makes me mad that we are brain washed to think some words are bad. With Urban Dictionary every word is changed.
Anyone agree with this rant?
Urban dictionary isn't changing any words because it is not an actual dictionary. It is just a place where people can go to make up funny definitions for their amusement. I can go there right now and add fluffy bunnies to the definition of Nazi but it wouldn't actually change the meaning. I really hope you don't take Urban Dictionary seriously.
If swear / cuss words lose their meaning and their impact, then what are you going to use for emphasis when you really want to say something like 'fuck that' or 'that's shit'?
If they lose their meaning like you suggest you are left with no cuss words - and that's fucked.
i don't like damn shit and hell are bad words they are almost second nature, but when I hear people using bitch, motherfucker, dick sucker and things like that I think they are trashy
Cuss words or naughty words are considered such since they have been given negative connotation from frequent misuse of the word. For example the word "Bitch" is the accurate term for a female dog. However has often been used to refer to women. Female dogs will have sex with any male dog so basically you would be referring to that female as a "Whore".
However the term has evolved over the years to just mean a very unpleasant person. So that is why a lot of words are considered cuss/naughty words. Not that the words themselves are bad. "Bastard" is the accurate term for a child born out of wedlock.
However since it was considered wrong to have sex before marriage the child themselves would be considered a sin and something no one wanted to associate with. Now this has become a term to mean a rude despicable person who people do not want to be around. Since of of course no one wants to be around a "Bastard" since they are the equivalent to an untouchable in the Indian community.
Anything else that did not originate from a true meaning is simply slang. Those who do not use anything besides slang come across as far less educated. As they do not know the proper words and sentence structures to speak correctly.
It gets super annoying when someone curses too much in every sentences they construct. I've met some and I can't take this kind of person seriously when he/she does this is in a discussion or debate. They sound more like a hyperactive homo sapien.
Swearing is indicative of a low-quality individual who cannot properly articulate themselves a superior manner.
Swearing ad nauseum brings down the quality of the language so I think it should be reserved for appropriate moments, like when you step on lego or a bird shits on you.

I agree that it sounds trashy when people cuss too much, but it just makes me wonder about society if we just thought of them as normal words.
Fuck, pussy and, cunt definitely are words ppl should consider cusswords. They are vulgar and tasteless. No reason to justify their usage or argue their etymology. Some words are just not cool to use.
Iv notice my cursing ( which is jus how iv spoken since I was 10)tends to make the ppl I'm talking to curse more also,even if they normally wudnt talk like that.Normal?
