Would you want to work beside a woman

As a man, would you want to work beside a woman as a firefighter, soldier on the front lines or even as a cop?
It is indisputable that women are weaker than men, physically. The marine Corps has a different strength test for women than men, and most women (if any) cannot pass the men's test.
Now, hold on, think about this for a minute.
If you are a 220 pound (fit) guy and wounded, but still in the line of fire, do you think a 120 to 140 pound woman could drag you to safety alone? Could that same woman drag her firefighter partner out of a burning building? As a police officer, could she adequately defend herself in a physical confrontation with a 250 pound perp (without killing him)?
Equal rights do not necessary mean capable in some instances.
Your thoughts?

How do you test for mental strength? Physical strength will only get you so far.

    • If I need you to get a wooden panel off of me in a burning house, get two violent thugs off me, or carry me to safety with my gear attached to me, then I don't think "mental strength" is going to help, unless you're Xavier.

Let me asses my surroundings, remain calm under pressure, then use my cleverness to figure it out. Strip you naked and use the weight of the gear to immobilize the thugs. My kid weighs more than a wood panel. I think I can move it.

If you were struck under a tree that was on fire and no water was near, I may shovel some dirt on you and find something to use as a lever and jump on it.

Or, I could toss away my ethics and just whine about being a helpless female so you are s.o.l. But I'm not that kind of person. I may even ask for help if necessary.

        • All interesting points but not one is realistic to the post.
No amount of thinking, cunning or cleverness is going to make up for brute strength, in some very common circumstances. You aren't going to have time to even get the 60# pack off the soldier bleeding to death in the line of fire, and certainly no time at all to 'figure' something out. You either do or do not have the strength to grab the pack's straps and drag your partner out of harm's way. Same for the firefighter. Nobody said anything about a wood panel. Think an unconscious partner in imminent danger. Move him now or at least one of you perishes.

They are realistic to the post. Unless every situation involves the extreme, then maybe we would be in trouble. But that usually isn't the case. And you can't guarantee that physical strength is the only attribute that would be useful in all situations. Sure, yes, there are times when it sure would come in handy. But not every emergency involves the need for physical strength alone. This is why we look for a myriad of skills, not just brute.

        • Well are you going to be able to get a burning wooden beam off of another fire fighter in a burning house and think him to safety as fast as someone would lift the panel off of him and carry him to safety?

Not sure what you're meaning about stripping someone naked to immobolize thugs. How is stripping someone naked while they're being beaten up by two thugs going to help?

Are your kids also on fire while the surroundings are also on fire?

Well, that giant man won't do us much good if his weight crashes through the burning floorboards. Sometimes being little has its advantages. Especially when there is little room to work.

Reread what I wrote. Nakedness isn't a defense mechanism, not in this case.

Never underestimate what a mother would do for her children. In the right situation, she could move heaven and earth. In the right situation, she will be the one breathing fire.

        Oh dear you are right

Wait, I'm writing to the government to tell them to fire all the women in police/army and send back to the kitchen.

        • I didn't know that the police and army are the only careers people could choose from.

I'm afraid you're going to have to come back with another argument, brah.

Imagine the size of the clit on a woman that strong! It would probably be all veiny and such.

You might get to fuck her in your lunch break.

Depends on the woman. Her courage and fast thinking in a crisis would be more important than physical strength.

Our local fire captain is a woman and she seems to do ok at the firefront

In many cases it might be harder for a criminal to hit a woman than a man. By the time the criminal has decided how to react, he'll already be handcuffed.

Very often, female cops are required in order to handle female criminals.

  • Ooooo! I didn't expect that one, I thought you meant in general, which obviously if it was the case I wouldn't care...But in those things, yeah.

I would care because firstly, as a firefighter, you're going to have to carry heavy equipment, and if you can't carry it or help carry heavy equipment then that puts more work on me, which I may not be able to do by myself and that would put the public at risk.

As a cop, definitely not. If my partner is female and I get toppled by two guys, I can't expect her to be able to handle herself unless she has a weapon, let alone help me. I'd need a partner that would be able to keep me safe just as much as I could keep them safe from physical danger.

As for in the army, again, meh. If I'm unconcious I'll be reliant on her lifting my ass up with all my gear on my body and carry me to safety.

Obviously this is a general view. I don't doubt there are some women who are fully capable of these roles, and if they passed the tests to be in those positions like men do (which means no easier tests) then I wouldn't care if that person was female.

So yes, I agree with you. When it comes to being physically reliant on a person in dangerous situations I would much prefer a guy as my backup.

I don't know if anyone notices this or not.. but a lot of cops are really out of shape. When I was a kid, my friends didn't usually have a hard time running away from them. Male and female cops usually have the same amount of struggle taking a criminal down, with or without a gun.
Firefighters are a tougher one, as they do have extra bulk to lug around, which means you have to have some extra bulk to carry it- but I think you have to meet a certain weight class to perform that job which solves that problem.
I don't know a lot about being a soldier. I've never seen em in action, so I can't say how I'd feel about it.

I get where the OP is coming from but there's a reason the military bars women from certain MOS's. As for the others... if you don't like where you work then get another job. Once it's all women they will be perfectly able to drag each other around.

Wait... maybe you just have a "being dragged around by men" fetish... seek professional help to sort out your issue.
