Reminiscent here...
I was in the shower and my mind wondered ...

I sometimes wonder if people think I self harm...
I dont...I just have marks around my arm from burns...little lines where I have touched the edge of a pan or something...im a good cook but im accident prone lol. And I do have 2 white lines on the underside of my wrist ...from the time I punched threw a Window (｡+･`ω･´) ...f*ck that window ...no but seriously it sounds more bad ass then it was ... if you saw someone with a few lines on different parts of their wrist like 3-4 on each wrist would you think they are accident prone or would you think they self harm?

Is it normal to wonder if people think I self harm?

    Until a few years ago, I'd never heard of self harm except on TV, and 10 years before that, I'd never heard of it at all. I don't believe I'd ever met anyone who did this.
    It has been an eye opener to meet someone who did (did, not does) this as a teen, and though I must confess I still do not understand it (I HATE pain) I have learned quite a bit about it.
    I suppose if I saw certain marks on someone's body now, it might come to mind. Several marks on the wrist as you describe, I might attribute to suicide attempts.
    The whole thing makes me incredibly sad and brings out a desire to hold them close and a wish to help.

      I only met 2 people that used to self harm...or at least told me about it...some may have done it and never told me.
      the first time I met someone who did was back in middle school. It was weird because I didnt know what to say.
      she showed me her scars and I looked and said "dont do that." She told me it had been a few years since and I said "good im proud of you." Then we never spoke of it again.

      It is a sad thing.

      Aww I was hopping not.
      I dont think my friends think this because uf you knew me tyen you would know I wouldn't ...and you would also know I burned myself because you would most likely witness it happen lol.
      But I was worried strangers might...tho I have been only asked once about tge scars on the underside if my wrist years after it happened...when it happened my wrist and hand were bandaged and everyone asked what had happened lol.

      Well im sure this was ment to troll... im a woman so yeah I wear eyeliner...its black eyeliner. I dont cake it on tho.
      as im sure you are refuring to emo people...but just so you know self harm doesnt go with any set fashion

    I wouldnt assume the person self-harmed but only because in my experience I've gotten suspicious scratches on wrists as a kid from playing with the house cat. I always wondered what other people would be thinking though

    Similar story with me. As a small kid (between about age 5-7), i often had a lot of bruises on my legs and arms from playing outside and running into things inside (i was a very clumsy kid) and even then i worried that my teachers might see the bruises and think my parents were abusing me. XD

      I worry about this with my daughter! She had bruises all over her legs...I was always like omg what if people think we beat her!!!!
      My daughter likes to climb on everything lol... climb and jumb...and run....and fall

    I've got a scar that runs halfway around and along outside my right calf. I got it from an accident, and it wasn't my fault. At least it's perfectly linear, so it can come off as cool-looking to certain people.

    If you hadn't described your injuries, then I would've thought you're a very careless person. Stop it, you've got one body and it needs to receive good care. :)

      Lol I bet that would look cool...if I met you and saw it I would definitely ask for the story.

      I should be more careful im just a bit accident prone lol :P

      One time I stabbed my hand in the kitchen... I usually hold the potato downon the counter and stab it (for baked potatoes) but for some reason I picked it up and stabbed straight threw the potato into the middle of my hand. ~(>_<~)

    I think I would also maybe think it was self harm.. but I would ask the person about it and try to be understanding and stuff. And when the person tells me it was from pans and stuff I would feel silly but we can laugh about it then

    I knew this girl who used to self harm.. she had over twenty thick cuts running up each arm up to the middle of her bicep area.
    It looked really bad..

    Don't worry, they're just assuming things. You know what you did and didn't do because YOU did or didn't do it.

    Yikes... That's a lot of "did"s and "do"s...

    My sister sometimes tried to self harm herself and... I think my mom knew, so whenever sis got a cut or scratch, mama would think she did self harm.

      I cant take pics right now...partly because this sounds like a lot of work, and im all snug in a blanket with a heater...and also because my bf is sleeping still all the lights are off.
      but ill look for simular pics on google

      This is tye closest thing I found...but fair skin without all the freckles ...and the lines very in color...some are pretty light

    i gots scars on the on my arm inside the crook of my elbow from weldin burns

    ive had a couple doctors and one cop accuse me of bein an iv drug user

        the first doctor wouldnt tell me why they were convinced of it either and kept tellin me in a condecendin tone how its ok and that i should just be honest

        finally i got pissed and put my foot down demandin to know why the fuck they was so adamant and they spilled it bout the scars

        i were able to point out how the scars dont come close to followin no veins which went much further than tellin over and over how how i dosent do any fuckin drugs

        the levela care i got prolly woulda dropped if id just went along with it and im not sure it didnt anyway since i dared to contradict the almighty fuckin doctor

        after that time i been ready for it and were able to laugh it off when it happened again

            seein as how they was old scars and not recent wounds they was thinkin it were in my past

            with the way medical records follow peoples round like felonies these days i didnt want that shit in there no matter what

            plus i gets drug tested in the coal mine anyway and brought that fact up when the disagreement started and i were tryin to be reasonable but it fell on deaf ears

            on top of it all does yall know how much self discipline it takes to ignore a white hot bloba steel sittin on yalls skin and keep on weldin?

      Well my brother saw me punch threw the window...my mom step dad and other brother came and saw only seconds after it had happened...
      my friend...bf...and family members have seen me burn myself...

      Im not sure who im trying to cover this up from?
      Im not questioning whether or not family and friends think that...i know they dont...i wonder about complete strangers.

      I dont have anyone to cover anything up from?
