    No.
I could not look another Mother in the face and honestly tell her that my child should be exempt from the consequences of their actions, because I know that if I was at the reverse end of the stick and it was my child that was murdered, I would want justice. I could not knowingly deprive another family of justice, even if it is my child.

If there is one thing that I want my children to be taught, if I could only choose one lesson that would go through to them in my 18 years of parenting, it is taking responsibility for your actions. Stepping up and saying "Yeah. It was me, I fucked up. I made the decision, I made the call. I made the wrong call.". I'd be very saddened and very tempted to try to help my child, but in the end, my support would be minimal. My child is no more important than the person that they killed.

Good thing I will never have this problem. It hate children.

I don't and would NEVER have children. I can't stand them.

Depends on their reason. If it was in self-defense, I'd still love them. But if it was cold stone killing, No I wouldn't support them. Disown them is a better word.

This question is impossible to answer, untill you're put in this situation.

The moral of this pole is dont have kids because they could grow up into a murderer.

It really depends. And honestly, killing someone is not always murder. If someone broke into my house with a weapon, I would shoot them and it would probably kill them. That is self defense, not murder. If I hit a pedestrian with my car and killed them (accidentally, of course) that is manslaughter. So, assuming the legal definition of murder, i.e. a planned, conscious attempt to kill someone, I think that I could not forgive the child, but I would want a fair judgment to be issued, so I might hire a lawyer but would probably just let my child keep the court-appointed one (if the evidence is overwhelming, they're going to get convicted anyways.)

it can be your child, brother, parent, wife or very close friend, you dont turn them in, you help them hide the body if needed.

I would always love and support my child. I would also remind them that they need to learn from this, so I wouldn't bail them out. If my kid killed someone, I would hire an attorney with the agreement that they would plead guilty.

I highly doubt I'll even have kids anyway, but in some case that these events did happen, no. I'm not going to protect someone who killed an innocent.

    Comment Hidden ( show )
  • No I believe in justice. If I had a kid I would make sure he/she took responsibility. Then again, that's why I don't plan on ever having kids. Haha who knows who will be raising the next Ted Bundy..

  • If it were self-defense, I would support them, they would probably feel awful as well about the whole thing.

Cold blooded murder, no. I couldn't just let them get away with it and besides, despite the fact they killed someone, if I know about the crime, I'm an accomplice after the fact, or whatever the term is.

But mostly no because of morality.

it would depend on the reason why they thought it was necessary to end the persons life.

I wouldn't because my hypothetical child would either go to juvy for being young or jail where s/he wasn't even my responsibility in the first place.

Depends on why they did it.

If your child commits murder, it is your fault, and no one else's. You were a bad parent. It is your responsibility to teach your child good moral behaviour. If you insist on filling your child's mind with lies, half-truths and religious nonsense, and blame society for their actions, you are only perpetuating these types of
    behaviours.
Also ignoring them or telling them things like, we shouldn't ask those kind of questions.

What if it was due to a mental illness or something else?

If someone kills due to mental illness, it should not be considered a criminal matter, rather it should be considered a very serious medical matter. If we adjust our societal views in this direction, it is my thinking that much needless killing can be averted because we will be better able to detect and intervene (resolve) such behaviours before it escalates to this level.
        Please specify what else.

Murders I have noticed can be caused by many things. Sometimes victims of bullying snap and sometimes, it was evident that the person needed help, but help was never given. I feel if things could be prevented, why then don't people try to take care of the situation instead of turning a blind eye to it?

Just yesterday, I read an Unmoderated post where they were describing torturing a toad. This is how it starts. Next they start torturing perhaps cats or dogs. Then people. Was the person who wrote this serious? Did anyone intervene? If they did intervene, how was it handled? By animal rights people and police, or by a doctor?

It's best to try to get people like that help as soon as possible. I had a friend that used to hurt his cats and his parents had put him in therapy, but it didn't seem to be helping... You're right though. It starts with weaker lifeforms and then it eventually escalates. I don't know if they were serious or not. I didn't even read the post. Hopefully someone does intervene. Hopefully, the OP was joking, but that would mean he/she has more problems than portrayed in his/her's post.

I am not in anyway condoning murders that take place because of bullying, but I can understand where they are coming from. I was badly bullied in school. As that child you feel you have no options. Teachers couldn't stop it and neither could my parents. I eventually changed schools. I never want to have children of my own because of what I went through.

It's good to know that you're okay now.
I was once bullied by a group of people for about a year or so. I don't remember feeling any aggression towards them, instead it only made me want to commit suicide. Which is what allot of victims of bullying have been doing lately.

If it was in self defense than yes. If it wasn't self defense but had a reason behind it than still yes but it would be a complicated thing that we'd have to talk about. If it was for no reason than no.
