Would you share some poetry?

I've noticed there's no real mediums of sharing poetry on here and I think it would be nice to have one.

This is my attempt.

If you want to share poetry other than you're own, be sure to quote the author.

  • I'm Nobody! Who are you?
    by Emily Dickinson

    I'm Nobody! Who are you?
Are you – Nobody – too?
Then there's a pair of us?
    Don't tell! they'd advertise – you know!

How dreary – to be – Somebody!
    How public – like a Frog –
To tell one's name – the livelong June –
    To an admiring Bog!

There was man called Lord Aribatti
Who was really very quite catty.
    He'd lap up his milk
    And play with the silk
And then he would pounce on a ratty.

There are forums and sites to post poetry, however, this is not one of them! Sorry. I really like poetry though P:

I find poetry in unlikely places. Bathroom walls and under bridges for instance. Ugly words can be rearranged into genies of beauty. Who knows I may be mining tid-bits of comments for found poems and word art....

One of my most favorite poems is "Death & Co." by Sylvia Plath

Drowning in a fantasy that you created to hide
Felt it washing over me as I lay beneath the tide
I lost what I was before I’m talking from tomorrow
Climbing up the walls you sell a basket full of sorrow
Water runs deep in between the veils of another day
I slipped and fell from the trees and I lost my way

Here's a good one I just came up with:

    This is a poem.
    A flurry of fantastic,frantic phonics.
A conglomerate of catchy, cool cadences.

But beware of boring and brash breaths of broken pieces of perplexedly pronounced words proclaiming nothing more monotonous and mostly moot self-reflexive, unsubstantial, overly literate, and alliteration-heavy heaps of hugely hopeless huffs. Especially when they just randomly break out of the rhyming scheme and end without warning.

Online I only share my bad pieces. But here is one that is not too bad.

    What she said was
    My best friend
    crushed all the bones
    with pens.

"I'll always love Jesus, you asshole."
    That's what she said.

    When I grow up
    I want to get stoned
    Why is the cat food
    not veal?

    Bonzai!

    So kind
    Such beauty and so divine
To the grace of a musket pulling down the blinds
To the grace of a puppet cooped up in the shrines
To strings, those fellows keeping us afloat
To the rocking and tumbling of a boat
    True
I want the whole of you
    If only for a moment
    If only to be silent
    I want to bathe
    To the river’s flow
    I want to wait
    For cupid and his bow

I know what I want, finally.
    I want to live forever.
    For a while.
