i would say that the "being single" trend that we often see nowadays is overrated.

I don't think you need to have a ceremony to show that you love each other. It just seems like a giant waste of money to me. If two people love each other then great, but I think that wedding's are way too expensive.

No, not really. Marriages fail when one or both parties don't make the effort to better their relationship, compromise and care enough. I don't think that this invalidates the institution itself.
