My ex boyfriends mom (who really loves me) told me not to worry about her son because he broke up with me..she said a lot of comforting words and she says she knows he loves me and that I'm it for her son, that he's just going through a phase..should i believe her?

She has no control over him so basically what she says unfortunately means nothing.
just from that he sounds like a BIG TIME PUSSY MAMA'S BOY from hell.. Wtf is it her place to inform u of such a thing in yohr relationship? it should come from him!!
It all depends on her intentions. Of she's a good mom yes she does know what's best, if she's intrusive and thinks people are not good enough for her boy then no. That leaves huge question marks.
Probably not since a lot of mothers baby the sons. However I think a logical mother might in some cases.

It depends. As you are growing up, it is only natural to run into occasional difficulties. It is natural for a mother or father to want her son or daughter to avoid the difficulties that she or he experienced whilst growing up. Personally, I think that the mistakes we make when we are growing up make us who we are. So, whether it is a mistake or not for your ex to be with you or to split up with you, he should be allowed to make the decision himself, without his mum interfering, although it is only natural for her to want to.
That's probably why he broke up with you. She's probably pressuring him to hard to be with you and get married and shit.
