Say you are expecting your first child. Would you secretly want the child to be a boy or a girl? I know it shouldn't matter but I know a lot of people secretly hopes for one over the other. Which one would YOU prefer?

I'd like a small ape that I could shave down and dress as a human child. When anyone looked at me, I'd get all offended and pretend my kid had a debilitating disease that made them look like an ape. Then I'd force the offending people to give money to my "ApeFace Syndrome" charity.

That whole princess stage thing disgusts me. I don't want to go onto the internet and see her Facebook loaded with pictures of her teeny tiny, 12 year old gumdrop titties in a skin tight tank top that I did not buy for her with the caption "dnt look down my shrt! LOL xoxoxo". I'd fucking shoot her.
If I raised her my way, she'd end up being a tomboy. She could, quite possibly inherit my sex drive and fuck the whole football team, most of whom would be her training buddies. Hopefully she'd use a condom but many sexually active high school kids are not as smart as I was and don't use birth control and I'll end up being the shamed parent of a teen mom. Do not want.

Girls are too much to deal with growing up and more expensive. Too many emotional issues.

It doesnt matter. When its my kid, i wont care at all. I will enjoy him/her no matter what, until they are teenagers of course....

I'm a girl, but I communicate better with guys. Females sometimes annoy me, there are some exceptions, but I think a boy would probably be easier to handle.
I would want a son.
I would try to be a father figure for my son, something alot of male children don't have, which is why male children aren't as smart as they used to be.
If a woman (the mother) dared try to take my son away from me, removing a father figure from his life when there is no need, I would murder her.
In all honesty, I might try to get a child due to adoption. I don't trust women or the justice system to look past the whole "She's a woman, that means she gets child custody" if the scenario would ever introduce itself.

Believe it or not, even though I am a woman, I completely understand what you mean and I am so happy that someone else sees what I see.
I believe that it is a TRAGEDY when a father figure leaves the life of a child, male or female. Mothers are just as important, but I feel that a child is better off with a strong male role model as a father and no mother figure, than an "independent" single mother figure. Male role models impose discipline and their approval leads to self-respect and gives children something to strive for in their homes, assuming the male role model has an ounce of sense when it comes to parenting.
I don't give a fuck what anyone else on here says. Gang violence, teen pregnancy, much of what is wrong with the youth of America can be attributed to not having a strong, firm, respectable male role model in the household and when I see a woman try to rip custody of her children away from a willing father, when I see a father die in war or a woman do anything contrary to her children having a strong male role model in their lives I see a tragedy that perpetuates the destruction of our youth.
I honestly wouldnt want either, but if I really had to choose it would be a son. Far easier to raise if you ask me.

There are too many males in the world, compared to the number of females. Males who don't get sex get very frustrated to the point that they will kill, rape, whatever. In India and China where female infanticide is rampant this is a disaster waiting to happen. So, daughter for me. The sex ratio should be largely reversed so we'd all have harems and there will be world-peace :-)
Yeah, largely reversed...Something tells me you don't understand that it's men that have built mostly everything you use in this world, and if there were far more females than males, society will suffer more than they would benefit.

And actually, from what I know of, there are more women than there are men. Just because alot of women don't seem to be your type to date, doesn't mean they don't exist.

I think you totally misunderstood my post but oh well. Although it is rather mathematical that if there were more females than males more males would get laid and feel less tense. Males are naturally polygamous and since there are more males than females and only some males get most females there are lots and lots of lonely males who are the 'creeps' you females reject since you have lots of choice. Frustrated males become violent (just look at the Arab world where sex with a willing female is so taboo that they're all incredibly frustrated & extremely violent/aggressive) which was my link with world peace. Being a male myself was relevant in the sense that I'm not a feminazi (as a poster accused me of being) who has other motives than enlarging my dating pool and feel less tense. You claim there are more females but that's only when you count very old women who live on average several years more than men. One last thing: From a biological standpoint also one male suffices to breed with several females to get offspring whereas several males for a female is pointless: it's only one fertilisation anyway. Not that I want to breed like a rabbit but I'm just pointing out from where the male desire to spread his seed in as many holes comes from evolution. A male who doesn't get any fumes. A female who has a BF doesn't even give another male as much as a second look. It's true in nature and it's true with humans. Ever heard a teen girl ramble for hours about her BF this her BF that?
