Would you rather stay with a guy who makes you completely miserable and turns you into a self-loathing, hallow, shell of a human being and having nothing to live for but raising his children, or have everyone around you (friends, family, literally everyone) hate you and think you're worthless and cruel?

seeing as i would be happy i wouldn't care that everyone hates me so I'd take that option.
Good point but I never believe it when a person says they wouldn't care if everyone hated them. I'll hold my hands up and say I want to be liked by everyone (does that make me desperate) and yes I do care what people think, probably too much.
I'm not sure what I'd chose I suppose if push came to shove and I had to chose I would choose being happy. xx
I see what you mean, if everyone hated me I'd be miserable because I care (maby a bit too much) about what people think of me but in this hypothetical situation I'm happy which tells me that not only am i not miserable but also I finally don't care what people think of me, even my own family. I'd rather be happy in ignorant bliss than miserable in the harsh clarity of the other situation
I'm happy and everyone hates me. They love my fries but they're afraid to admit it. I eat a Fillet-O-Fish and then I feel good about myself.

Through mindfulness I can control, or attempt to control whether or not I'm miserable. No matter what I do I can't control whether or not everyone hates me.

If everyone hated me, I would be miserable.
I'd rather be miserable and well liked, so long as I am able to hold on to my ambitions. In a world where everyone liked me, I'd be able to make money and advance in my career a hell of a lot easier.
I'd rather have everyone hate me. At least in that option I will remain childless.

Actually they're no one's kids, they don't exist yet. I mean in the future, staying with him means that's all you'll do.

This doesn't make sense. Are the two options connected somehow? If you stay with this guy everyone will like you and if you leave everyone will hate you? Or are they unrelated? Either way you will be miserable I suppose but the details are confusing.
