It depends on what either on of them would be. Some physical diseases are worse than some mental illnesses, and vice versa. But I voted mental illness.
I have dated both, and I have to say I would choose mental illness. If they take medication, and you know how to handle situations, mental illness won't interfere much in the relationship. However, I had a boyfriend who dies of cancer, and that was the most difficult thing I have ever had to go through.
Physical because I'd much rather have a chance at being fully myself again.
as a visual male, obviously ide rather date the person a mental disorder. When fucking them good it'll be even better sex half the time!!
with a mental disease at least you know they are always going to be there. unless they commit suicide or something.
I would rather be mentally insane than crippled. And I know that doesn't mean party crazy.
My uncle has minor schizophrenia. But then again, it depends on the mental and physical illness. I'd rather have some kind of deficiency like color blindness/deficiency instead of being bat-shit mentally crazy, or have OCD (which I do have) instead of having my legs amputated
Mental Illnesses!
I have a few, but none of them have been properly diagnosed. There's been a lot of misdiagnoses and I never get to state my case in them>_<
Mental Illness is a bit easier to treat then a physical problem. The only thing one has to worry about is the risk of suicide and fucked up side-effects form the medications.
With a Mental condition, brain function doesn't necessarily have to be destroyed. Allot of people with them are very creative and can function to some extent.
With a Physical Disease, it ravages the body. Depending what you have parts of you can become permanently damaged or your whole body could be damaged. There's usually little that can cure or alleviate the symptoms and once again medications usually make more problems for the sufferer. Even highly regarded treatments don't always work like they claim. A friend of mine, had bone cancer and had to repeatedly go through Chemo. It failed to work and he died some months later.
I don't really have any faith in modern treatments. I trust ancient/herbal ones:)
