Would you quit?

At my job, the pay is low. The hours are long and, the actual work is almost impossible sometimes. I want to quit and find better jobs, which i have but i turned down because besides the actual job, the people that i work with who do what i do are suffering just as much as i am and i would feel like an asshole for leaving.

I dont like everyone i work with (another reason why i want to quit) but for the ones i do like, i dont want to leave them hanging and short staff (i mean the job is difficult enough as it is!)

If you were me, would you quit?

Definitely!! Send for the others when you get there. Seriously, that's way too considerate. Look out for yourself like Everyone Else Does.

  • I would quit if I were you, for sure. Eventually your coworkers will leave too, when they've had enough of it.

  • Thanks to all the comments, i wish i could reply to each one. I feel better about quitting now and not just because of support from people and usernames i don't know.

Im never going to find the "dream job" or the "dream salary". At the least i can have faith in the fact that its not about me (or you, him or her for that matter). It's about having the courage to do what you need to do in your own life. Maybe i want to and have stayed because of my compassion for not just my own but for the jobs of those i work with...

That doesn't mean i can limit MY self for others.

I was told i was selfish, once. That same person that said that, now has the job i could do much better and im not bitter at all. The lesson i learn today is that, we all have our instructions on this planet (and im not a "relig-iot").

Karma might as well be another word in the dictionary cause money is great, but i need to take of me, for once.

No. I was in prison and my time was up but I felt guilty about leaving behind those doing life, so I murdered my cell mate. Loyalty all the way!!!!

You cant not get a better job since you know everyone in your position hates thier job. They would get a better job too if they got a chance. You are just going to have to get over that. If you think this way you are going to retire at 65 at the same stupid job since you decided "Oh I cant get a higher position or I cant get a better job since ill leave all these poor people behind".

Life's too short to be stuck at a job you hate. Just man up, find a better job, and quit this one. Keep in touch with the people at your old job.. if you new company is hiring, you could recommend some of them to your boss if they're also qualified.

No, it doesnt mean you can limit YOURself for others. But that statement right there in itself is pretty selfish. We are all selfish within our own lives, lets not be hypocrites. I admire you for feeling what you feel though lets face it, what comes around goes around.

Im not saying you should keep your job if it makes you unhappy. Im just saying at least you got one.

Be a trendsetter, you can do it! I did it! You can to, it's just not worth it to stay if you are unhappy.

I was overworked, underpaid, and unappreciated at my old job. Finally, I got sick of how I was being treated and found another job so I could leave. I do not regret my decision one bit, and things have been marginally better for me every since.
