Would you mind if your child was homosexual?

I sometimes wonder whether I'd care if my son or daughter was homosexual. I wouldn't mind, but the only reason that I would, is that they probably won't have children in the traditional way (they could have donors or surrogates).

I know some parents are really against the idea of it so what's everyone's opinion?

Yes, absolutely 36

I have no issues with homosexuals.

But there is a deepening and I acknowledge a sense of what I believe a Homophobic feeling if it was my own child but I'm not too sure to be honest - it has to happen before I can confirm this. But I am confident that I will be supportive should my child be a homosexual.

I feel quite bad having double standards and I apolygise to our Homosexual/Bisexual members.

I have nothing wrong with gay people at all. Some of my really close friends are gay and I literally don't care, they're still awesome homies.

But if I had a son that turned out to be gay, I'd be pretty disappointed. Mainly because I would always hope for a traditional family set up, my own grandchildren, not adopted ones. I have a very proud military family history, very good looking people, and I think I would be slightly ashamed to have the gay couple. I hope it never happens. I think every man wants their son to be something, and for me gay is not one of those things.

And also, what the hell is wrong with people going on these "straight bashing" quests. Like if someone says, yea I'd be bothered if my son was gay, why all the fucking hate? It's just a different opinion to yours, it's not wrong. It's not like I'm saying to people who wouldn't care if they had a gay son, hey fuck you bro, you fucking faggot lover. Jesus christ, everyone just chill the fuck out.

    • Excellent point. The fact of the matter is that those who claim to be the most "tolerant" are, in fact, very often the most intolerant.

I had the exact same thought, but I was too afraid to say it. So there's a thumbs up in solidarity from me.

Heck no, when he turned 18 I would take him to chip and dale's. I think I would prefer a lesbian though so I could take her to female strip club, so I could enjoy the view. Either way I would support them.

    I'm Bisexual. If I cared, I'd be a hypocrite.

  • I'm sure I would be somewhat concerned, but not much.
There are far, far worse things out there than queers.

If I did I would be a hypocrite, which is not to say that I'm gay. I would be extremely supportive.

No, I wouldn't mind. My children can fuck whomever or whatever they want to, as long as they practice safe-sex. I don't want them to die for a little fun. One should never lose their head over a little piece of tail.

No absolutely not. I believe that we must respect and love people despite such things. If we agree with it or not. That is their life to live. If they are not hurting anyone let them be happy. I do not mind gay people and have had many gay friends in the past. They would be my child and I would love my child no matter what. You cant force people to be christian, to be straight, to be atheist, to give up a faith or change it. It is wrong for anyone to try. If they are doing something bad like rape(othercriminalacts) yes we need to put a stop to it. Anything else just let them be.
