Would you make a move to date a shy girl?

If a girl was hot, innocent, funny (once you get to know her), smart, successful and sweet, but was shy (could be seen as not interested or boring at first impression), would you still try to date her? For example, if you smile and wave at her without knowing her, and she looks confused, looks around, and smiles shyly, would you continue to pursue? How important is the "open, friendly, social, free-spirited girl" in when you are looking for girls to woo?

Yes, I prefer quiet girls. 45
Maybe, other factors are more important to me. 30

From my personal experience I can say the shy girls are always the wild ones.

I like quiet girls, but you have to watch them. They might have a lot of skeletons in their closet. As you know, this poll so far says that guys will go for the quiet ones so don't be surprised if she's wild or has quite a history with men.

    I prefer Shyness over loudness.

As long as you can respect her not wanting a social life, and she can respect you wanting one, then I see no problem here.

I don't prefer quiet/shy girls, but I have dated a few. As long as they are able to come out of their shell (even if its only around me) then we have no problem!

I did date a girl once that was so shy that after several months she still hardly talked when we were together, and she never wanted to leave the house or do ANYTHING! Sadly, I couldn't take that kind of lifestyle anymore, and we agreed to part ways.

"(could be seen as not interested or boring at first impression)" <--- then how the hell am I supposed to know wether to make a move or not? it's alright being shy, but unless both of the sides show signs of attraction nothing will happen. I don't walk around, saying "how are YOU doing?" to random girls.

Body language , shy girls have the subtlest body language , it's reaaaaally - here I go again , sexy.
It's funny though, we automatically think in guys or girls, the one making all that noise are the hit with everyone. But often tho people are just using them as filling , entertainment. See that in guys and girls a lot.

To me also. I knew some men (including me) are quite taken with shyness. I didn't realise it was such a large proportion.

      • Yeah, I thought guys' biggest thing when looking for a mate was for her to radiate confidence... Guess girly magazines are quite off!

F'k yeah, love shy girls, sooo sexy in their subtle ways. Couldn't really hook up with a shy girl tho unless she's the type of person that comes out of her shell later, alone or when you know each other better bc I don't really get along with the quiet/shy .

I prefer shy girls. However, if they are too shy I always interpret it as being uninterested in me. Sometimes guys can be just as shy but need a little encouragement.

I love shy girls. They usually have the most interesting things to say. I actually have asked out shy girls before because, like I said, they're interesting. Plus, I'm a shy person myself.
