Would you live where people were tortured and killed?

I thought of this poll from something I just saw in the news where a lady was upset she was never informed that she was living in a house where a serial killer chained people up in the basement and tortured and killed people. The killer died in jail so is no longer around. She had several items still in the house that were on the crime scene pictures and left behind. It turned out the landlord not only knew about it, but was also the killers mom.

She had gotten the house on section 8 so it's not like you can be too picky but she got the court agree to break the lease since the landlord said no.

Would you have lived there?

Yes 8
No 27

I would be more concerned about having an ethically questionable landlady than what used to go on in the house.

I don't really think it would bother me in the slightest. Living in a serial killer's house isn't going to make me a serial killer and I certainly don't believe in ghosts. I've lived on several vessels where people have died, violently or otherwise, and it hasn't fazed me at all.

I might be a little weirded out. If I hadn't had any problems since living there I'd probably stay though

There's a legitimate concern for this. Some of us are spiritual and we believe in ghosts. Haven't you ever heard of haunted houses?

I know right? The house didn't kill anyone.

I used to live within two minutes of a graveyard. These kinds of things don't really faze me.

    • There's a pretty big difference between living down the street from a grave yard and living in a house where people were tortured and killed by a serial killer who's mom is your landlord. I actually find grave yards comforting, but I could see the serial killers house having a negative aura which I think can put people in a bad mood.

I don't know, man. I see what you mean, but if crops are growing over Somme or Ypres battlefields where thousands of men suffered - living in a serial killer's house sounds tolerable.

        • Yeah, I still live by Kent. I'm actually in Lake Tapps which is about 10 miles from Kent. I have not heard of the baby graves.

I'm more likely to live there, unless it's too expensive or is a piece of shit.

I would renovate the shit out of that house before I would live there. I wouldn't want to sit on my sofa, looking at the room, wondering if that's the last thing the victims saw as they suffered in agony before their death. Thinking about it would be unavoidable because I like to smoke bud.

That woman was lucky the courts broke the lease for her.
