Accept the house, get a job, get insurance, burn it down, collect insurance money, build a less creepy house.
Of course. Someone committed suicide in the house I grew up in. Not the previous owner but the one before (or the one before that, I don't remember).
Where I live now is the site of several thousand funerals. It doesn't really bother me.
I need more information:
Did he kill himself inside the house?
How did he do it? Is his body still there?
Why did he do it? Was the wallpaper just that terrible?
I can't make a decision like that!
Yes he did.
He hung himself.
His body is still there in the attic, you will have to remove it.
He wrote a note that said "the house... it spoke to me.. and made me kill myself. Whatever you do, don't live in this house!"
It depends why he committed suicide. If he committed suicide since ghosts were haunting him Fuck no! If he had other issues absolutely. I don't see who died in the house matters. Unless given the first listed scenario. Unless he had ghosts haunting him before he went to the house. Not taking a chance at a haunted house. That is just really creepy. I am already paranoid as it is. I can not live in a house that could be haunted.
Definitely. Unless it was the house which drove them to suicide, which sounds pretty unlikely (it's just a house), it wouldn't bother me at all. I wouldn't even expect it to be cheaper than an exact same house who's previous owner didn't commit suicide :P
I wouldent bother me, unless the body was still there and/or it wasnt cleaned up. the house i live in now my great grandfather died in, and I think that a few people were murdered either in the house or on the property. Not surprising considering its from 1890. no one commited suicide in the house that i know of
No, I don't think I would. As much as I love the topic of suicide, I'd be rather creeped out. There are things to think about like "Why did he do it?", "Did it have something to do with the house?", "How did he do it?", "Are there permanent stains from where he shout himself?', etc.
Then, there's the fine example of the Tenant. Roman moves into the apartment who's former owner committed suicide and he slowly begins to go mad. Then, at the end he jumps out of his apartment window twice and it leaves you wondering if he was actually the first tenant this whole time. O_0
Ghost don't exist and I might be able to get some cash off. So FUCK YEAH.
I grew up in a house where the previous owner killed themselves. He hung himself in the garage. The whole neighborhood did it and it made an awesome time convincing my friends that his ghost was there.
They are separate issues. Unless the suicide was because there were so many issues with the house there was no other way out. Get a home inspection.
I wouldn't even care to find out about it's history.
If I did know, I'd just want to make sure that any blood that may have resulted from the suicide was washed away and cleaned up properly.
I may even play some pranks on the neighbours to creep them out if they know.
Why would you have to be homeless first to consider it?
I don't think it would bother me. However I did learn that the person who lived in my house before me moved out because they broke their back in a car accident that took place in the intersection out front. The house doesn't bother me but that intersection kind of makes me nervous.
I probably would BECAUSE te previous owneer committed suiced. The idea would be eerie.
