Too easy, definitely alone. My strict fundamentalist christian parents are long gone but I got away from them at the age of 19 by marrying the first bloke who asked me.
I guess I learned at an very early age that an apathetic attitude toward my parents would protect my feelings from their unreasonable expectations and manipulative behavior. When they died I felt an unexpected sense of freedom and peacefulness. It was wonderful.
Family should always live together.
When you are young, your parents should take care of you.
When they are old, you should take care of them.
It is actually *that* simple.
I would live with parents and return the favour of raising me. Parents cannot be strict in old age and I can decide all matters concerning me.
It depends how strict. My mother is christian, and kind of strict but not that extreme prude, she explained me what is sex when I was a kid and she wasnt telling me lies about it. She lets my bf sleep next to me in my bed, she just told me million times not to get pregnant etc. She is kind of prudish, she thinks only whores have oral sex and that sex toys are disgusting, but Im not telling her anything about my sex life anyways so I dont care what she thinks. My dad doesnt really give a fuck about anything, he just watches tv all day. He is messy as fuck so I have to clean up after him. He doesnt even flush the toilet, spills his coffee everywhere and he has negative remarks about everything. Wherever I go, he says Ill get beaten up, raped, robbed, killed etc. When I come home and say how good was the holiday/party, he says something negative about the place, even when he has never been there. So I dont talk much to him. But I live at home, because Im a student, have no time for a normal and good paying job, so I cant afford moving out. Im 22. Im planning to emigrate from the country after finishing university.
Living alone requires independence and tons of responsibility. Making your own meals and paying utilities gives you a sense of personal fulfillment.
