You know that you are going to die. But you have the option whether you want other people to die with you. Not every single human being on earth just say, all the people in your hometown, your neighbourhood, or village (depends on where you live). You have to choose between the two.
This was a classic question from my childhood I'm just giving it a tribute. ^_^

Not sure what the benefits of killing a large number of people would be, to be honest.
Yes, I will take the town with me! But first I'll go to the capital city! So all the worthless politicians, mafia and other corrupt morons die with me!

I would die alone. I will always be alone anyways. Some people are better off. I mean nothing to this world anyways. So I am better off dead. No one will miss me when I am gone. I am worthless in every sense of the word.
Two very extremes there. Honestly it's no choice I'd go with die alone. To be honest it still sounds like I'd die alone. The way I see it, dying with a bunch of strangers simultaneously wouldn't make me feel any less solitary. That's actually how it goes every day, plenty of people die at a same time, but what matters is if the people you care about are around you when you go gently into that goodnight.
Would it really though? I mean like I said, a bunch of people die every day simultaneously, but that doesn't make them feel any less alone though. Oh, and that last part was a reference to a popular poem by Dylan Thomas called "Do Not Go Gentle Into That Good Night."
I would like to die alone. It'd be far better to see mankind kill themselves off than to take up the act of genocide as a means the curb the species's population. Every species has a biological clock (an evolutionary timeframe, if you will) and eventually, you humans will also go extinct.
IF i could, I would take as many people with me as I could. I wouldn't do it just to thin out the human race, one act of mass murder isn't nearly enough to do that. I'd do it just cause I could, because it's much more interesting to be that guy who took down an entire city block or an entire town or village. Much more interesting than to be the guy who died of cancer, or old age.

Only, when I go with this option, as a kid I thought that I should take as many people; my family, friends and neighbours all of them so we can all still be together in whatever after life existence there is after death.
But then I realise we can get separated by heaven and hell. It sucks :(

When you say "everyone", do you mean every existence that might chisel its way into being? Humans, aliens, things we don't count as existence? Absolutely everything that could ever be classed as alive by anything else that classes itself alive?
Who asked you the question first time around in childhood? I ask because I've always been curious about things of an infinite nature and I think this person's ego might satisfy that curiosity.
No.. I said it depends on where you live. To me, it actually means where most of the people are your family, relatives, friends and loved ones.
I heard it personally from my cousin but I know it had been asked around earlier than that. It was not meant to be taken too seriously but, you know, it plays with your head. Then I grew up and posted it on IIN.
