    I thought about this for a minute because I really didn't know (never considered it before!!)....but WHY the hell would I be at a wedding if I was inclined to object? I'd have to either be psycho, or actually have a legit enough reason to object. So I guess, YES, I would object, considering that.

    I can only think of two real uses for an "objection" at a wedding.

    1) The bride or groom is underage

    2) The bride or groom is already married

    This is however also why the "objection" part is outdated ...
    1) If they elope to a state where they're both of age, then there's nothing you can do cos that license WILL be valid.

    So parental objections wouldn't necessarily override state laws.

    2) If the bride or groom is already married to someone else... even if the wedding is completed, the marriage license will be nullified once the state finds out. so "speak now or forever hold your peace" is kinda moot since the state can declare it an invalid marriage.

    Only if I had good reason. I have been to weddings, but the last wedding I went to I passed out from heatstroke.

    No, I'd probably object before the wedding. There's no need to do it publicly.

    Nope. Not even with a good reason. I wouldn't go through the embarrassment of being a good friend just for everyone to start rumors. Then the bride and groom stay together. Then think I'm a bitch for embarrassing them with a personal problem at their wedding. No thanks.

    YES.
    But only if there was a serious reason, e.g. i am fully convinced that the person is only trying to take financial advantage and i KNOW they have someone on the side...stuff like that.

    But: I would discuss this with the other person beforehand, not wait until the wedding to bring this up...but IF the person doesn't listen AND i'm still invited, I'd object.
