Would you erase a person you know or knew from your memory?

Dear civilian,

In light of the upcoming new year, Lacuna Inc. is pleased to announce their new and remarkable neuroscientific procedure for the general public. You can now erase any and every trace of a person from your memory. This also means getting rid of any objects that strongly remind you of or are associated with the person. Pictures, gifts, songs, trips, experiences. The procedure has zero side effects guaranteed.

The first erase is free and complimentary. Do you have someone you would want to erase from your memory? More importantly, will be willing to go through with erasing them?

Kindly notify us by circling the appropriate option on this letter.

Sincerely,
Dr. Mierzwiak

  • Imagine erasing your memory of yourself. That would be interesting.

  • No. I would not want memory loss. Even if a memory is bad it is important. You learn from memories. Instead of dwelling on the past, how about using your bad experiences to desire change. Its not like you can change what it done anyways.

Yes, and this made me want to watch eternal sunshine of the spotless mind, amazing film, and the only film with Jim Carey in it in which I don't hate him

Yes, I would forget at least 3 people. Probably more if I think about it.

I thought of something today about this post.

It probably wouldn't be possible to forget just one person without also forgetting several people they were associated with (such as their family). So, if that were the case, it would definitely be more than three people for me. It would probably be closer to twenty or more for me.
