Would you date some one who had a sex change?

I asked a lot of people in my class today and I was shocked and some what appalled at how many people instantly said 'no thats disgusting'. I expect more guys will say no. I later asked my close friends and all of them said it wouldn't make a difference. I'm curious what you all think.

Assume the person has had a full operation and you really liked them.

Yes. I'm a woman. 113
Yes. I'm a man. 169
No. I'm a woman. 101
No. I'm a man. 221

I would date an MtF transperson in a heartbeat (sorry if I used offensive terminology, I didn't mean to). I think they are very beautiful. I'm just not attracted to FtM transpeople for some reason though.

    Sure why not.

Of course. If I really liked them, and I knew about it, it wouldn't matter.

I can see why so many people would say no because it's just not the same.i wouldn't be able to do it, but i would never be mean to a trans person because they have to go through a lot.

I'm pansexual and transsexual so I would have no problems obviously.

The results of the poll are much better than I expected. 40% of people don't hate me. Yay!

Yeah they are a lot better than when I asked some people around my school. Its better than what I thought from the boys too. A few days ago it was 45% from both gender but there have been many more NOs since then which is a little disappointing.

I deffinately wouldn't have a problem with that. I'm not prejudiced at all.

The fact that I woulnd't be weirded out by it may, however, be due to the fact that I'm bi.

I really dont know. I used to vomit at the question, but the idea of being with someone like that doesent seem as bad. but obviously, it would have to be a very good procedure for me to even give it a second thought.

I'd say no and I'm a woman. No because sex is important to me, sex with a man-no substitutes. It would be like cheating myself and cheating my partner because I wouldn't be totally satisfied in that regard.

If I was a guy, I'd have no problem with it.

Yes to a girl, but they'd have to be able to pull it off. Not like some chick with a heavy jawline and you can clearly see she was a bloke...

I don't see how you can be appalled at how easily people were able to say no simply because they are aware of their own feelings on the issue. We don't all have to be ok with it was you seem to be. Just because we wouldn't pursue a relationship with them doesn't mean we hate them, it just means it's a lifestyle choice we can't support.

    • I agree with that but these people were completely ignorant about the topic and just said no instantly because its different to the norm. I mean they were really ignorant. One girl thought that to have a sex change they just stick a vibrator on. I can respect your opinion if you have thought it through and have fair reason.

Do you have ANY experience with a transgender? If not, then you don't have any experience to base an opinion on, only majority social norms of acceptance, childhood memories of adults around you reacting to them and a gut feeling. Lifestyle choice? Really dude? Study some psychology online from Stanford, as you can Google many of their studies for free. While you don't have to date them, they accept you, why not accept them back?

I have friend born with both make and female parts but at 8 they had to remove the male parts, they were in the was and causing problems and got infected so down there he's a girl but unless you knew that you'd never know, acts, plays, talks, walks as a boy, you'd wouldn't know. We've had sex together and was awesome for both us.

Eh i think my normal standards would apply though.

So it would have to be a feminine looking sex change. Since there are some absolute shockers out there.

But then im Bi, and personally would have preferred to be born the opposite sex.

When I was in HS i worked at a reproductive health clinic in San Diego. I met a lot of transgendered people--usually MtF. I got along with every one of them. Since moving to Boston I've volunteered at a health center locally that has a large LGBTQA community. Again, I get along with everyone.

But I'm not proud to admit there's no way I could date a FtM. I wish I were more open-minded about it, but there's something unique about maleness--the smells, the taste, the body language, the feel, the rhythm. There's absolutely NOTHING else in all the world to me like maleness. I know the spiel about gender being a social construct, and about people being able to be whatever they want. I respect others' rights to feel that way, but I utterly disagree on gender. If for the rest of my life I couldn't be with another guy, I'd live without physical intimacy. No substitute for a born-male.

Some of the responses really and truly demonstrate the so-called "priorities" of these people. All they care about it image and having sex.

To those who are obsessed with the superficial: remember that after a certain age, your ability to have an erection will fail. And, after a certain age, women tend to be even less interested in putting up with sex. Most of all, they are no longer easy to manipulate, trick, or flatter into sex acts the way very young women might be.

Better to consider the real, tangible and long-lasting aspects of a person: their personality and their behaviour. If you can see yourself spending your sexless, settled and elderly years in a person's company - that is a good catch. The other things will give out and lose novelty long before that time comes anyway.

To those (dappled) who considered the trials and tribulations a person who has a gender reassignment endures - THANK YOU for some intellectually sincere thought and content, it's appreciated.

That SOUNDS like a nice speech, but ultimately--and I mean no offense by this--it's vacuous. There is no moral compass for taste. Humans like what we like. There are ethical ways to BEHAVE, and we all have, I think, a socially moral responsibility to question why we have certain tastes if those tastes statistically make others' lives difficult (like a certain gender's, or a certain race's...), and to reconcile the way we act--and if possible even think--with what we believe to be right socially. However, intellectually understanding why something comes about doesn't translate into being able to change one's cognitive state. An individual's (non-harmful) priorities are self-justified. That's a privilege of freedom. You feel as you do--congratulations. And others feel as we do. So long as there's no intent to harm others in any way, those feelings and the lives they motivate ought to be beyond others' moral scrutiny.

4-7 Inches...depending on the individuals body structure. A "mangina" must also be held open, in-depth, every day for at least an hour or two. By the way, anal is bottomless.
