Would you date a single parent

Would really like to date a single mother the idea of being a father is something I really would like. I have worked in childcare so have lots of experience. The idea of taking on someone else's child would not be a problem as I am adopted so have first hand experience of knowing what it's like to have someone except you

There's nothing wrong with wanting to be involved with a woman who already has children. I think the only situation when it would be odd was if you wanted to date single mothers exclusively. Then it would be more like you were try to 'date' their kids.

More and more often, fathers play a very active roll in the upbringing of those children, so be prepared to share that male role in the child's life. No matter the level of involvement of the biological father compared with yours, the child will probably always consider the bio dad their 'real' dad. But, it sounds like you have given this idea considerable thought and have likely already considered this.

Troll? Hardly, I am a world renowned Dwarf of the Pissinflagon Blood Line. Clad in my shiny rhinestone boots and my exotically colored dress coat.

Probably not, I'm way too selfish and egocentric to deal with someone else's child.

It is and always will be, all about me, forever and beyond!

I'll be honest, I sometimes run into problems looking after myself. I don't think I can handle a relationship - especially one which entails a kid.

Not sure how normal it is but it's certainly not uncommon. For me, personally, I wouldn't want to because I plan to be child-free and don't get on with kids.

No, cause I don't even like kids so that would never work.

I, for one did not, nor would I ever date a woman with a child. I'm done with child rearing and do not enjoy the company of children any more.
I can't think of a more awful scenario that falling for a woman with a child, so there's no way I would date one.
This is not advice, only a personal opinion.

Having a kid would definitely compromise my ambitions at the moment. I think I would enjoy it and be able to manage it, but I'd rather be a parent far later in my life. Plus, I'd ideally be part of my child's life from the very beginning.

if the father is a deadbeat that wants nothing to do with the kids, isnt better to have a step dad to be a father figure then

    I'm a single Father since I was 20.
Now I'm 36 and my son 16. I never had help.
It was difficult to have a relationship with a small baby crying in the middle of the night.
