So every girl that I've liked to the point of asking out has turned me down. I've later learnt that they would prefer to date someone of their own ethnicity or of someone of an "exotic" background (Spanish, Italian, Greek etc.)
Is there anything exotic about a Half Filipino-Half Australian guy?

If everyone goes back far enough they will find they have a bit of this and a bit of that. What does it matter?
i don't think I'd be able to know that someone is a half white half Asian Australian just by looking at them.
I'm a filipina! ahhaha!! But I had some western orientation (from my family) There's alot of girl that will fall for you :) it's your personality that counts. Usually, girls who consider looks over personality are "kids"
I'd date them if I liked them. I don't see why people place so much emphasis on background. If I like someone, I'll go out with them.
I think the half Asian half anything else guys are exotic, especially if they are also the half girl half guy variety like they have in Thailand!
Even though I'm a guy if I was in the dating scene I could be interested in one of them.
i think i could date any race but i just kind of want pure chinese kids lol because for some reason i think it might be harder for someone whos a 'mutt' or half etc...like fitting in and stuff

I would date a half Asian half Caucasian guy. I grew up around Filipino kids, thinking they were my cousins. I have a crush on a half Filipino half white friend of mine, and he doesn't care. Some girls nowadays can be shallow like that, but some people prefer their own ethnicity.
I just wanted to say im pinoy irish, :D lol completely unhelpful sorry but to be fair asians tend to develope less testosterone, (even men) and that chemical sadly developes aggression, impulsiness and deeper voices and all that alphamale stuff that attracts women. i mean (being biased) white asians look the best to me :P and yeah, you're "exotic" enough.
ethnicity isn't a problem with me so i'd say yes given I like your personality and whatnot.
What makes you think it was because of race?
Maybe they don't find you attractive in general. Have they told you explicitly, "it's because you're half asian half white"?
They haven't said it to my face but they have a expressed racism to Asians in the past.
Other than that a mother saying their son is handsome is a given. I can say so myself but check my profile and you be the judge.
Perhaps it's best not to ask girls who have "expressed racism in the past" out :D
Also, it still doesn't mean it's necessarily about race or only about race. Only way to find out is to ask them.
Generally people have a preference for their race, and I'd suggest its usually because of familiarity; we are usually attracted to people who are similar to us, who we imagine being comfortable with. Appearance is the first indicator of this. A white person in Japan for example will probably find it more challenging to get into a relationship with a native Japanese person.
I'd say in situations where you can, let a girl get a reasonable impression of your personality first before asking, and try and get a good indication she is into you too.
I've never met someone with the same ethnic background before. Then again, I've never met an Australian irl. But I'm sure if I were single and you had a captivating personality and were interested in pursuing something more, I wouldn't turn you down.
Heck yeah I would. I have a half asian/half white guy in one of my classes and he's hottt.
I've never really had that problem (being Spanish/Italian). I've always had the parents who frown up mixed race couples.
