Would you consider bestiality (sex with animals) animal cruelty/abuse?

It depends. If a dog humps your leg, are you abusing it? I really don't think so. I'm leaving this deliberately controversial viewpoint here on purpose.

In many cases, yes, but not all. If you put peanut butter on your genitals and have a dog lick it off, that's sort of gross, but I don't think it hurts the dog. The dog has no concept of what's actually happening. If you're actually penetrating an animal, though, that's abuse.

Well if a horse gets a massive boner and decides to fuck someone with it, then no harm done to the horse. But if you force an animal into sex, that is just fucked up as it is defenceless.

My thinking is that its not abuse long as the animal is not injured or distressed by the experience.

Some people may be tempted to equate this with a kind of "statutory rape" situation. The argument goes that like a child, an animal doesn't understand what's happening the same way an adult human does, so even if they're okay with it at the time, they're still being taken advantage of. But in my opinion this is a bad comparison, because the animal, unlike a child, will never understand differently and thus will never be bothered by it.

Yes, I consider bestiality to be a form of animal abuse. No animal goes up to a human and says "Please bone me" . Having sex with an animal is very disgusting and degrading. Get a human or a sex toy, for fuck's sake.

they say animals cant consent, and thats the biggest issue with it, but i have noticed with dogs, if another dog tries to mount it and the dog dont want to be mounted, the dog will growl and bite the dog trying to mount it. Im not saying its ok to have sex with animals, but i wonder, if it gave you signs that it was in heat, could that be a form of consent. Of course, if an animal were to gain human intelligence, and the ability to give consent in a way we could easily understand, whether or not they looked kinda like us, then i would not consider it bestiality, and would be ok with it.

Though I don't find appeal in it personally, most people who have Zoophilia genuinely see animals as an equal. Besides, there is no difference within both the nature of humans and animals to procreate, thus, I highly object that the animal is being abused but simply following on instinct. The cruelty in this act would be forcing the animal but we all have varying opinions that determines what "forcing" is.
