The first choice is worth $1500 dollars with no chance to make it more or less. However, the second choice offers me a minimum of $1500 WITH a chance to get a prize worth more than that with no risk. Obviously, I would pick the second one.

I'd like to say mystery however it's easy to say that on an internet poll if it actually happened I think I'd take the tv.
I'd pick the mystery. I don't watch much tv at all, just my one show every Wednesday since Psych started again :b And I like surprises.
Obviously the mystery prize. More to potentially gain with nothing to lose, and if it's something I don't like/need/have space for I could just sell it and have moneyyyy!
I would pick the television as it is bigger than the one I have now although for that price it doesn't sound too good of a quality.
As much as I don't want the TV, at least I could almost certainly sell it for a good price. What if the mystery prize is something I can't sell, like food? Or something it's illegal for me to own, like human slaves or opium? :P Or something I have to collect from another country, or a holiday I'm not interested in?
$1500 is about £1000, which is good money but not loads of money. So I guess I'd take the risk and go for the mystery prize, but I'm very wary of it.
