would you be mad if you found out your friend is mostly drunk when with you? I mean not just you, but you are one of their closest friends. not because of you, because they have some social disorder,And not super drunk just like buzzed or well enough to still function.You just think they are kind of dopey but cute/funny. Would you not be surprised if they told you they were usually drunk then? You have seen them sober and they are just kind of nervous/uptight, but after having a few drinks they are fun, outgoing, normal, etc. would you be mad if you found out they were a drunk,or just think they are a stupid loser etc?

    Honestly it just sounds like a social lubricant more than he's actually buzzed when with me. If we can hang and be chill just us two then yeah that's cool. But I can understand being a little buzzed when at a social gathering. I'm with Neuro in that I would want to help them in gaining self-confidence and making sure that they don't drink too much. Also, I wouldn't think of them as a loser, to be honest I wouldn't really blame them. Overall if he's a close friend then I would look out for him when I can.

    Well, I would talk to them to make sure they didn't have a serious problem and they knew the risks they were taking but I like to drink a lot too so I wouldn't be upset.

    I would only be mad if it leads to bad habits that they know they can avoid by simply refraining...like being a bitch, lying, stealing, smoking crack, etc. If the drinking only promotes positive behavior and they're not harming anyone(including thyself), no point in being mad.

    How would you not know? Do you live in a country that is so anti-alcohol that most people don't understand what alcohol is or what the effects of alcohol are?

      i said not super drunk just like buzzed. some people are normally funny/confident that way, and it doesnt affect everyone the same way. for example if a person is normally very nervous and uptight, they will actually seem more "normal" after a few drinks.

        Okay, but with experience, it's really easy to tell. My girlfriend phoned me up and I'd had half a beer. She asked me if I'd just started drinking.

    well if some of my friends were drunk around me they would be super drunk as we hang out pretty much 24/7

    I would tell them they had a General Anxiety Disorder which they were using alcohol to treat and they should see a Doctor to get help before they become alcohol dependent.

    Well Firstly I wouldn't be mad at them like what's the point in that? I also would most likely already know if they were drunk or high because that person would obviously be acting different so I most likely would ask what's up with them. I once had a similar situation to yours so I can understand where u are coming from, one my closest friends would always be drinking when at her parents house- I was actually really worried because she was a binge drinker so I made it clear to her that it's gonna fuck you up you know and she did something about it.
