Would you be embarrassed if your son/daughter came out as gay?
I know Magic Johnson must be ashamed about his flaming gay son EJ.

My motto has always been "All I want from my kids is to be happy and healthy".
My eldest son looked like he might be gay for a while (he was a very "sensitive" child), but as he is happily married now (to a woman), I guess he isn't. Or maybe he is Bi, I don't feel I need to ask - whatever he is, he is. He is happy and healthy, and the rest doesn't matter.
I'm relieved he has found a wonderful loving partner who brings his life joy. The fact that she is a woman is actually rather irrelevant.
Bullshit
What man would not want a son to be a Man? Or a daughter to be a woman for that matter?
Oh I just want them to be happy is such BS. But it relieves you of any responsibility to raising a male child into a man or a female child into a woman.
As long as you didn't kill them you claim you are a good parent.
No, I claim I am a good parent because my children have grown up to respect others, irrespective of their belief, race, sex, or sexuality. They have a strong work ethic, caring natures, and compassion for their fellow human beings.
My son is a fine man, and would be even if he dressed in drag and hung around with RuPaul.
It's 2016. No one really gives a shit.
Well okay so maybe the Westborough Baptist Church and similar douche nozzles.
Aren't we lucky most of us life in a society where Sharia law doesn't apply - not because we are gay, but because Sharia law is primitive and outdated. How can anyone have an ounce of respect for a "legal system" which will kill a homosexual, but allow you to fuck children and animals without punishment.
If Muslims want to live under a legal system that is oppressive, primitive, and completely incompatible with modern society, they should fuck off back to Saudi Arabia or whatever backward Arab state they come from.
The presence (specifically the lack of) a father figure is a big factor in whether or not a kid turns out gay. We each have natural inclinations at birth, but not having a strong male role model is huge. Especially for boys.
So if my son or daughter turned out gay, I'd see it as a failure on my part as a parent.
If you think that, you defy the growing base of scientific knowledge that indicates in many cases homosexuality is genetic, and upbringing is irrelevant.
If your son or daughter "turned out gay", your failure to accept them as they are is the biggest failure you will make as a parent.
I thought the growing base was that homosexuality is a combination of genetic and environmental factors. Correlation does not imply causation, but there is a strong connection among homosexual men and poor relationships with their fathers.
And in the hypothetical: just because I'd feel myself to be a failure as a parent doesn't mean that I'd feel my child as a failure. The world is however, more difficult for gay people. My kid wouldn't be able to have a child of their own with someone they love—any gay person would admit that sucks.
I agree and i think its a cop out for parents of gays to think otherwise. They would rather fall in line with society and accept their gay child vs taking responsibility
NO, why would I be bothered by my kid coming out..? If thats who they are, then just let them be themself without bullshitting them like many parents of today would do..
I wouldn't care if any of my children are gay/les. I just hope they wouldn't be scared to tell me about it.
