Would you be bored out of your mind if..

You didn't work for the rest of your life and had no children but you were married and your husband or wife DID double shifts to make up for you staying home and you stayed inside 80% of the time each year?

Side note: You're not a handicap

Yeah...I'd rather work even part time than just sit home doing nothing 134
No...sitting home relaxing for another 50+ years is PERFECT for me. 46

It sounds like a recipe for the stay-at-home partner to seek excitement and end up cheating. Relationships as unbalanced as this rarely work.

I would enjoy being a housewife, but I t wouldn't be fair for him to work double shifts while I did nothing! so, IF he made enough without working too much, and he liked the idea it would be great! I would enjoy cleaning the house/yardwork, going jogging/gym/lingwalks with dogs. cooking really cool things from scratch, runnig household errands. I would love, it'd perfect!

I would just die. I mean, I could handle being a house wife because then I would have time for
    1. my art
    2. writing
    3. volunteering with children
    4. making and maintaining a garden to live off of
    5. volunteering anywhere, really
    6. learn to play the cello
    7. whatever I want.
Sitting around and watching tv would be torture...

No, I would use my time to teach the OP about punctuation marks.

I would never let that happen. I actually hate that. A lot of women have guys that work their butts off and they just stay at home wasting time or go shopping for stuff they don't need. I would never agree to that. I would rather stay single forever. Its so boring. Sometimes you need a little chaos in your life.

Boredom is a just another state of mind...some people get bored no matter what they do. There are hermits all over the world perfectly happy staying alone and meditating...there's more to life than just life.

I would feel like a burden to my spouse. I also would prefer making my own money. I hate when people buy me stuff and give me money. Well aside from my parents since well them I never had a choice and they had to care for me most of my life. I don't see why they should have two jobs if we are both living together. I also am a terrible cook so I would hope to find a nice house wife so I would have good food to eat.

Its weird to be a house husband. So I'll get a life if I'm in this situation.

Well, I still have my computer. And pencils. And paper. And lots of other stuff/hobbies that can be done indoors. *rolls eyes* You won't die if you don't go out, some people would gladly stay at home.

I would die too. My soul would shrivel up and I would kill myself.

somebody needs to get off their ass and do something, I'd think. Share 50% of the workload, so that more quality time could be spent together, and to lift the additional burden from the other loved one.

  • If it's a situation that both spouses are happy with, then I don't see anything wrong with it. I think you'd have to have a clean house and some great hobbies in order to keep from getting bored.
