Would this bother you when kissing?

Imagine you are young (18-30) and you meet somebody and hit it off for a one night stand/relationship. Eventually you go to kiss and they mention that they have dentures. Assuming it doesn't affect the kiss itself... would you still be just as willing to kiss them?

I'm 21 and will be getting full top dentures soon and I am curious as to how this will affect my dating life

It wouldn't get to me at all 117
I'd deel weird but it was be less awkward to kiss than to completely c 70
Unless I really cared about them, I wouldn't go through with a kiss 48
No way, game over man. No kissin' fo' you. 44
Help us keep this site organized and clean. Thanks!

Yeah, there is little reason to announce this right before the kiss. That's likely to spoil the mood. I don't think it would bother me, as long as they are kept clean. Although I would ask a lot of questions.

my mom has full mouth dentures. doesn't bother my dad at all. to me, as long as they didn't fall out while we were making out i wouldn't have a problem. if they did fall out, i hope you wouldn't mind me giggling a little as you put them back in and we got busy again. people are born without teeth, might as well die with out teeth too. plus the gumming effect on other areas might different. just saying though.

I would hate to think that I am shallow but someone having dentures may throw me for a loop. I'm not sure how I would react, I guess it would depend on how the person feels for you.

That doesn't sound like something that needs to be brought up in the beginning of a relationship but idkk.

I'm amazed and disbelieving that so many people say they wouldn't mind. Sorry, but I think they are just being kind. Honestly, it'd gross me out. One of the first thing women look at on a man is their teeth. One of my mums friends has dentures and when she takes them out her whole mouth like collapses, it's seriously gross.

On the other hand, if you didn't mention it until you knew someone likes you already and have been out with them a few times, I don't think it'd matter. I definitely would NOT mention it on a one night stand unless it's so obvious that you have to.

If you're a girl, it may be slightly less of a problem, I'm sure some guys would be interested in the convenience of having no teeth when it comes to other sexual activities...

Interesting. No big deal. I think this goes in the don't ask don't tell catagory.

I would probably be like "wtf why??!" And then they'd tell me why, and I'd think "huh, weird, I hope this person can still kiss properly" and then I'd continue kissing.

don't tell people at first. It's not something people our age are accustomed to so you probably won't get the reaction you'd hope for. Build a relationship and then tell them....that way they'll have time to think about it and they will care about how you feel.

Honestly if it was just going to be a hook up I'd be freaked out but if I think about if I found out my boyfriend had them I know I'd adjust to it

why a guy as young as you, need dentures?! And why not don't you get implants instead?!? Implants look completely natural, in fact no one will ever know the difference unless you tell em.

so long as they didnt take them out and slavor went everywhere i wouldnt be fussed. you are probably better off not telling them tbh, unless they ask you, in which case i would say yes, but i see no reason why tehy would ask such thigns unless youv given reason for them to ask. dont worry about it

It's like asking if people will kiss you if you wear contact lenses. Nobody will notice unless you tell them.

Do you have an awesome story as to why you have dentures? Bet it'd make a good conversation topic if you're in an awkward silence :P

    to those saying no.

Why not? if it doesn't affect how one kisses, what's the problem?

I think maybe you should have brushed more. I can not think of a reason why someone would lose teeth so early. This does not sound normal at all.

  • 1000yrVampireKing

First off why are you losing your teeth so early? I know some men bald early or grey early since genetics. However I do not understand why all your teeth are already falling out. Did you not brush at all or what? I would be disgusted at that point. As I might feel I am kissing a old person. Which is just really creepy. Also I have dreams of parts of my body falling off. Such as my ear, my teeth my hair and so on.

genetics combined with bad acid reflux. Not much I can do about it

And implants are far too costly. I don't even have dental insurance actually. Maybe Ill look into it when I have more to spend down the road
