Would legalizing the illicit drug trade worldwide improve things?

see my profile for more.....

In short, would local economies have more money, would some governments become less extreme, would people be happier, would life be funner, would it improve relations between people, within countries, and business relations between nations...I mean everyone likes having money!!!

Drug USERS do not deserve to be imprisoned for putting something in their own bodies and harming no one else. It's absolutely ridiculous. Right now law enforcement put so much money and manpower toward going after drug USERS that REAL criminals like robbers, rapists, and murderers are getting away with their crimes on a daily basis.

Yes, it would. Not immediately, obviously, but in time things will certainly improve, and drastically.

Well, i guess if weed was legal I could live with that, but if crack, cocane or meth was legal I would be sitting in the corner of the living room with a shotgun pointed at the door.

doing drugs is a victimless crime. the only person you hurt is yourself and that should be your right

one thing is that because drugs drugs are illegal they are very hard to sell so people add dangerous(but cheap) chemicals to the drugs to make there stock go further.
but if drugs were made legal it would remove the need to add any chemicals to them therefore significantly reducing the dangerous side-effects of most illicit drugs

I think it's impossible to know until it is tried. I think that a lot more people would do drugs at some point, but I'm not even certain of that.

I think it's too late to try and legalize marijuana. Do you think big drug lords will be happy that they can sell drugs with no consciences? No, they will be highly upset because then the drug business will be fair game and people will go buy from other people instead of them which will result in a great loss in their profits. It already started to happen in Cali. People selling medicinal marijuana getting killed because they are ruining business for other people. It would be great but I personal think it’s too late. Maybe not putting users in jail would be a good idea so citizens won’t have to give 3 meals a day to a pot head when they can barely feed themselves.
