Would it be weird for 2 guys to share a twin sized bed for one night?

So one of my friends (a guy) is coming to visit me (also a guy) at my college. It's a long trip so he will stay overnight. I don't have any other places he can sleep in my dorm besides the floor, and that's really hard and uncomfortable so I was wondering if it would be weird for me to offer for him to sleep in the same bed as me. I know the bed isn't made for 2 people but I thought it might be more comfortable than the floor. But I don't want him to think I'm weird or make him uncomfortable.

It's not gay or anything but it sounds uncomfortable . Make other arrangements like a sleeping bag or a blow up mattress.

  • Guys don't really share beds with eachother, which I am not sure why not, girls do it from time to time in a non-weird way. He might get the wrong idea of what you are asking, so ask him if he would rather sleep on the floor or do that whole head to foot thing where you don't sleep on the same end of the bed as eachother.

Because homosexuality is not accepted by a large part of society. Men are very cautious to not do anything "gay". It's ridiculous. It would be nice if people could just do what they wanted without fear of judgement and ridicule and it would be great if we got rid of these silly "rules" about what's ok for consenting adults do in the bedroom.

      Ahem.

      • It is a bit weird to me, though. I mean, lesbianism is considered "hot" by many people where as gay men is apparently "gross"? Obviously not everyone has that double standard, though, and there are people that do consider two guys together as "hot", too, but it seems like the numbers differ.

Regardless of why, all gay/straight/whatever people should be treated equally. People can think whatever they think about it but they have no right to demean anyone for their personal choices. There's no justification in that. That's what I had been trying to say to you. Yeah, there's reasons people do this (it's gross, it's immoral, it's unnatural, the bible says it's wrong...etc) but pointing out a "reason" doesn't make the reason "right" or just. It's those who stand up and say "enough is enough" and stop participating in shaming and justifying persecuting those who society feels is "gross or immoral" who cause positive change. The guise of "just being honest and shit" only hurts people. People should be able to do whatever the hell they want, as long as there's no harm and it's consenting, especially shit like this poor guy who is scared to death over innocently sharing a bed (there is no reason on earth why he should stress this)

          • Yeah, I gathered you were going to use this in regards to the discussion we had, but really the two situations are not the same. Lol.

It is tho. It really is. I hoped you'd try to understand instead of instantly try to keep up the argument.

Nice talking to you, tho. I did notice you have been...less crazy (less Duzzy?)... in this discussion. I like talking to you if you're less hostile and shit.

Unless you each weigh under 140lbs there's gonna be a lot of man on man body contact hahaha

Why not try and find him a bed in your dorm that someone who might be away, isn't using. Otherwise, you offer him the bed and you take the floor. Anything else is crossing a line I don't think you want to cross, or maybe you do?

I wouldn't share a bed with a man, as one or both of us might suffer from sleep humping.

Yeah, it's definitely weird. Get a sleeping bag.

I'm not sure how he'd feel about that, but ask him anyway. If you're worried about him taking it in a way that would make it seem like you're coming onto him, start with "No homo".
