Would it be better for humans to lay eggs rather than giving birth?

Hypothetical: if we could change the way we reproduce, would it be better if we made a short pregnancy period + laying a egg that later hatches? Please explain why below.

Wouldn't that mean every time you have your period, You would lay an egg.

Lol For some reason I pictured it like chickens: laying one egg almost everyday.

Ive always said we should lay eggs, cause the really irresponsible people would break them or maybe eat them. And only the eggs that were taken care of would hatch.
I guess theres the possibility of people stealing each others eggs though...

Sounds painful still, and we have to keep that shit warm or sit o. It

    • The shell could start off soft but once it's completely laid it hardens. Then when the egg's about to hatch, it thins again.

If women laid eggs then they wouldn't need boobs. Can you imagine a world without boobs? HELL NO!

I think humans should be able to lay eggs because that's my fetish.

I would hope that we'd be able to lay non-fertile eggs instead of having periods. That would actually be something to look forward to each month.

In Germany there is a very active political party (10 per cent and more in elections) which wants to give everybody the free choice of their gender. Thus, if you are born male but want to be a woman - no problem, what has surgery otherwise been developed for! In some regions they are in the government and seriously are about to change school curricula so that this free choice and other topics on sexual activity will be taught from the first class (6-year-olds) onwards.

I am sure the idea of laying eggs will certainly please them, for a choice which should be equivalent to the old-fashioned way of producing babies. They would certainly propose a research program to develop the necessary medical techniques. Give it a try and send your proposal to

    No, seeing as we're mammals.

    • Monotremes are mammals that lay eggs (Just as placental mammals like us give birth to live young and marsupials such as the kangaroo raise their young in pouches). A example of a Monotreme would be the Platypus.

        • I personally think it would be much better and cooler if we laid eggs instead. I can imagine that squeezing out a soft egg would be alot easier than a 7-9 pound tiny human.
