Word counting

When I'm watching a DVD or TV I always count the words and for some reason I feel more comfortable when the movie or TV program ends with an even number of words spoken in total. Is this normal?

I did the same thing when I was younger. Not so much anymore, but I still lapse back into it now and then. I felt really satisfied when it ended in multiples of 5 or even better, multiples of 10! I count syllables, though, not just words. So if the syllables in a sentence come out to multiples of 5, I feel much better. I don't know if it's "normal" but you're definitely not alone.

Thats crazy Jen118584 (30020) I used to do the exact same thing and count every syllable of anything i heard and had to count it on my fingers until it ended on my thumb (which is always 5 times unless its exactly 5 syllables)

I don't know how you could keep count for so long.

I think many people have similar little quirks, I always have to have the volume set at an even numbered setting.

OMG I LOVE YOU! I do this ALL THE TIME I thought I was a freak or something :') im glad im not alone in this. I do have OCD and if they dont end in an even number I have my own weird set of rules to make em even. xD

I am almost like you. Sometimes when I watch TV with subtitles, I almost have to count the letters/words.
