Without dov charney as ceo of american apparel it will fail. iin?

I believe that American Apparel will fail without Dov Charney in control.

Whether or not you agree with his behaviour (e.g having sex with and receiving BJs from his employees), and the brand positioning of the company (always pushing the boundaries with extremely sexually suggestive ads using employees instead of models).

I believe AA will fail with the new CEO Paula Schneider in control.

She has decided to reposition the AA brand in "A positive, socially conscious light".

This may be the "right thing" to do but I also believe it will be the death knell for the company.

IIN?

  • That's because 69 year old sailors are not the company's target market

To say their ads are "suggestive" is like saying a hammer blow to the side of the head is suggestive of aggression. Seriously it's not subtle or suggestive, they just lure in horny simpltons to buy overpriced, crappy clothing using spread legs, crotch-shots and ass cheeks. Not too sophisticated. Like saying "Here's a picture of pussy now buy this shirt."

Sure I like looking at the women in their ads but I wouldn't spend a dime on that crap.

Whether you think the ads are suggestive, poorly executed or are in poor taste... or whether you think their products are overpriced crap aimed at horny simpletons is not the point.

The point is: Will American Apparel fail without Dov Charney who embodies the essence of everything that is NOT PC?

I believe the company (which has now become very PC) will fail without its very un PC founder.

  • I don't know maybe maybe not. But to be honest I like their ads I like that they push the boundaries and make no apologies for it. I'm so over everyone's pc and sensitive bullshit. If you don't like the ads and you don't like the clothes don't fucking buy it. Stop fucking whining on facebook and shit about it.

    • Chill the fuck out dude.
You obviously didn't read what I wrote.
I like the companies ads too.

The point of my post was: Will the company fail without Dov Charney who embodies the essence of everything that is NOT PC?

i.e. They have installed a PC CEO who I believe will ruin the company.

      • Ummm I am in agreeance with you. I read what you wrote. That was not directed at you at all. I get annoyed with people that find trivial things to complain about like an ad for a clothing company.

I've never heard of American Apparel before your post, so I'd have to say, "Frankly, my dear, I don't give a damn!"
