It took a while but, Europe and the U.S. are essentially the most moral places, (no slavery, no genocide) on the planet and I think it is because they have the freedom to do so with their wealth. Will China become more altruistic as their global power and wealth grows?
Aside from: genocide, forced labour concentration camps, the harvesting of human organs, the murder or disapearing of dissenters, the imperialist raping of Africa, and many more horrible state sponsored atrocities happening now in 2021 as we rest safe, I would say it is a travesty for sharks to be harvested simply for their fins.
I dont disagree with forced labor for some criminals.
I think we could do that in the US for certain charges. Give them an option of 15 years labor or 25 years prison they gonna take the labor and learn to be a functioning adult.
