Will my hearing be affected later in life from working with dogs?

I just started working at a dog day care centre on weekends only and every night I come home I notice a slight ringing in my ears. I'm worried that it could give me hearing loss in the future when I am aging...Dogs are constantly barking and it's very difficult to make them stop obviously. Certain dogs have such an extreme shrill like bark and it can be frustrating especially when I am stuck in the house with them for the whole day. Should I use ear plugs to try drown out some of the worst noise? I don't think il be allowed to though since I wont be able to hear instructions properly, it's hard enough trying to hear someone directing me over the top of the noise..? Seriously, can my hearing become damaged?

Yes, you should. Tinnitus is the start of hearing damage.
