Why men are attracted to women?

When they do something slightly embarrassing and rather than get angry or deflect attention to someone else, they just laugh about it.

When you're at a wedding or a funeral and the person getting married or buried meant something special to you, and a woman looks over and makes eye contact with you as if to say, "I'm looking over to check you are okay, and I want you to see me checking so that if you're not okay, you at least know I'm checking because I care".

When you make them laugh so much that they make a snort sound or a grunt like a pig and it makes them start laughing all over again.

When you've missed them and you meet up again and go to hug them and they press the entire front of their body against you, and you know they've missed you too.

When they're still upset about the little boy who fell down the well, even when it turns out the boy was never down the well, but trying to get his parents on TV because he thinks that makes his family important.

When they're first interested in you (before you begin dating) and you've noticed about six times that they've seen you and then when you go up to them, they act surprised like, "Oh! You're here! I didn't see you come in".

When you see them with a sick animal and pure instinct has taken over and it's no longer about how someone acts or gender roles or anything like that; it's about what her gender has been and always will be.

When you've spoken on the phone and you realise after hanging up that you forgot to say you love her, so you phone back and she's surprised like she's expecting bad news and you tell her you just rang back because you forgot to say you love her. You never expect it to mean what it seems to mean.

When she looks you directly in the eye and doesn't look away, that challenge that says, come on, come and get me now, come and conquer me, come and plant your flag, come and make me want you like I know you want me.

When, in the shoe shop, she asks your opinion on the seven millionth pair on her feet that day, even though she clearly isn't listening to your opinion. If you're mean, you can wait until you get home and then ask her what your opinion was on the shoes. Don't do that, though.

When someone produces a camera and her first glance is towards you, to work out how you should present yourself, how she should stand to show that you are with her and you are happy about it. Miraculously, it works nearly every time, even when the relationship is over and you both know it.

When you wake up in the middle of the night and wonder what's dragging at your right arm. After a few tentative movements, you realise you are holding hands with her. And you know it was probably her who did that in her sleep. And in your own sleep, you let her.

Men need women in order to reproduce.

Because without women life would be a real pain in the ass.

The entire point of life, from a biological/instinctual/darwinistic point of view, is to be attracted to a mate, so that you can then reproduce and pass on your genes.

I find myself asking this same question every day. We're often unhappy with them and often unhappy without them. It's a real dilema...
