Why is the stock market doing so badly

Im getting worried that stocks will continue to plummet under the new administration in the USA. It seemed like the stock market was hitting records weekly under the previous administration.

The checks are working their way to the people and the vaccine is being distributed. The economy is gonna take off soon I believe.

I think it's cyclical in nature and we are just inside a bad period. But I don't know

War is generally good for the stock market. And biden is doing everything in his power to throw us into a war with iran/syria/russia for no good reason other than prolong a 20 year conflict.

I'm not pro war or anti war I just want to know the actual objective of a war, and that is my sticking point for the middle east wars. If it's to impede russias or China influence that's fine, proxy wars keep us from world wars. If it's to keep weapon manufacturers fat and happy I have a problem with going to a multibillion dollar war to keep their "friends" happy.

Interest rates. They're going up in response to the Democratic majority's consensus that inflation caused by stimulus payments will be offset by pent up productivity improvements if we get more rapid economic expansion. Politically, I am not choosing sides; only saying you have got to work with what you got. You can play this drop like a pro. Keep buying on the way down. Remember to use limit orders.

If you're buying an S&P500 index ETF like SPY, you can use an online broker like Fidelity.com. Purchases thru their website are ultra-cheap. To make this easy, I'll say buy in thirds, at say 4%, 8%, and 10½% off the the last months high. These are arbitrary numbers I picked in the context of fundamental valuations. Hopefully, your orders will fill.
