Why is it normal for a grown up male to watch "my little pony?"

Alright, everytime i come home from gym and chill out I watch an episode of something.. usually Spartacus, or Game of thrones. Family guy -if I feel really braindead. However last night somebody was really going about this "bronie" thing when grown up males become hardcore fans of a show for little girls. I'm not even mentioning the fact that some of them stick their dicks into plush toys(0_0)...
So tonight I actually decided to give it a fair chance and watched 2 episodes of that. God, WHY? I feel like I wasted 25 min. of my life. Felt like Twilight all over again, although less agonizing (At least I laughed a few times watching MLP).

So, bronies, random people, pony haters.. whoever you are: Please explain why anyone above the age of err..6? would watch that?! Is it normal?

    My 18 and 12 year old brothers watch it. My dad watches it and he's a staff sergeant in the National Guard. I watch it, at first because I'm a teenage girl and I like adorable things, but then I watched it more because I was surprised at how well thought out it was, and I liked the songs. I dunno, different strokes for different folks, I guess.

    Believe me, the first 2 episodes are somewhat hard to sit through if your new to the fandom. why it's normal? it's plain and simple. It's a good show. as for the weirdos who make pony sex dolls and the like? that's like the small percentage that gets the most publicity. it was made by the same woman who worked on kids next door, the Iron Giant movie, powerpuff girls, fosters home for imaginary friends. this show is just another in the line of amazing shows she's worked on.

    Apparently, it IS normal. I've said this before, but I find myself ever more interested in this phenomenon that is MyLittlePony. I've never seen the show myself, but I see that they have a hard-core fan base that even includes guys too. They must be doing something right.

      They don't. Somebody told me it's a hipster thing, but i don't see it -at least judging by people who get into it, they're not hipsters.

      You gotta watch a few episodes. again, i was shocked and the last time I've watched something like this was when my gf was baby-sitting a kid.
