I have no idea what furries are, but let me explain to you about homosexuals, its not the fact that they like another man instead of a woman, I don't care who they want in bed as long as its not me, its the way they act. Just few days ago was the 10th annual gay parade in Jerusalem, first of all its a city holy for many people, regardless if you're religious or not, show some respect to others, they can parade as much as they want in places like Tel-Aviv and nobody would bother them, but they have to parade in Jerusalem just because. When they parade, they could dress decently, instead they walk around in those obscene outfits with a shirt cut down to their belly button and other stuff, I love women but I don't walk around the streets with a blow up doll and my nuts hanging outside, and they illegally painted the welcome sign to Jerusalem in the gay flag colors. I can go on and on but I think I made my point. Respect is a mutual thing, they can't expect everyone to accept them and respect them if they don't do the same.

Some people want everyone to be happy, other people don't.

People are afraid of that which they do not understand.
    People want to be accepted.

Therefore when they see some new group that they don't understand, they ostracize it and belittle it.

There can't be an "us" unless there is a "them".

It dates back to puritan beliefs. 200 years later we are still restrained to fit what was defined to us as normal.

I don't think people should be awful to furries because of their fetish, but it irks me when people compare being gay to being a furry. The furry thing is a fetish. It's fine to do, but it's also fine for people to expect you to keep it in your own home and at conventions or clubs, much like you'd be expected to with BDSM or any other fetish. If you insist on repeatedly bringing up your fetish in the company of people who are uncomfortable with it, that's sexual harassment. Being gay is not a fetish. It's just the way some people are. It's a much more fundamental part of people's lives than fetishes are.

People are rude to furries, but it's not oppression. Furries are allowed to get married (unless they're also gay). You can take a fur suit off. Being a furry doesn't mean that you sometimes have to hide your relationships from people in order to avoid harassment. Furries don't face widespread hate crime.

Basically, it's ok to ask people not to tell you about their furry stuff. It's not ok to ask people not to tell you about their spouses because they're gay.

People tend to hate what they don't understand. I don't know what a furry is, but I'm against LGBT hate. If two people love each other, I'm sure God doesn't care if they're the same or opposite gender. I feel the same about discriminating against any groups of people, such as skin colour, nationality, etc. Also hating anyone just for being who they are. Embrace who you are and respect other people too; if more people were that accepting the world would be a better place.
