Why is america inferior to other countries?

I know that a lot of Americans hate living in their own country including me, although we have a lot of good things such as gay marriage, freedom of speech, etc. a lot of people tell me that compared to other countries America is inferior, I wanna hear why?

Help us keep this site organized and clean. Thanks!

Every country have their problems it doesn't mean they're the worse.
There are only few people in this world who actually like where they live.
    AMERICA isn't inferior.

I will never deny that America has a lot of problems

And at times those problems seem to get worse.

But I would never want to live anywhere else.

Well it's obviously not inferior to all countries in the world, just to other first world countries. This is pretty evident by the people defending America by talking about its qualities, they only mention things that pretty much all other first world countries have as well anyway, like freedom of speech, capitalist opportunity, etc. They compare it to second/third world countries. America is inferior to other first world countries because of things like: poor education, college debt, corporate government, prison population, mental health, guns, obesity, creationism, blind patriotism, etc.

Im female and while the US is far from perfect, I'm happy to be born into a country where I can say what I want without being arrested, dress the way I want without getting arrested, and have the options to do the things I want to do. Too many women my age in my town who make way more than me and have much cushier lives complain and whine about not having any rights, yet they're a perfect example of how they do have rights. XD

    Inferior to whom?

There are people willing to die in the desert attempting to get here for a better way of life.

Have you been to other countries? have you been to African countries like Uganda? Try staying in those places and then see how its like to be oppressed and having no rights, before whining about things you know nothing about....

All of those good things about America? A lot of other countries have those too, have them better, along with other good things that America doesn't.

You'll notice how the people who think America is "great'(particularly since November 9th, 2016) always compare it to the worst of the worst. That tells you all you need to know about how mediocre America is, and that's a big reason why too...all the old white dudes are satisfied not being the absolute worst country in the world.

If you're using "cute" to describe someone you're romantically attracted to, I suppose so. But it doesn't seem that way. Not to mention you already called me cute.

I don't think it's inferior. You're free to think whatever you want, but I don't think it's inferior. I think the United States of America is precisely the opposite of inferior.

The grass is always greener on the other side. I live in Europe and would give everything to be able to live and work in the US.

America is not inferior lmfao. Americans are just spoiled and like to complain about things when they don't go their way(because they have the right to). Even if we did live in some sort of utopia there's going to be someone there to complain, and it will probably be an American. Also if you're wondering I am an American.

For example, North Korea requires people to stand for the national anthem and respect the flag. Fun times indeed.

Exactly. If you don't think you're living in the best country in the world, why are you there? Living in the best country in the world is way more important than friends and family, way more important than a job, way more important than familiarity and security. You can replace all of those things so easily in another country, which are all so eager to let people from other countries move there permanently.

By the way, which country did you move to from 2009 to 2016? Russia?

      • I’m not an American citizen, I was born and raised in Kyoto a city in Japan for 8 years before my family decided to say goodbye and move over to America. Because I am still under 18 my parents have supervision over me, and I was forced to go along even if I didn’t want to. Even now I am not old enough to travel somewhere else on my own, on top of that my family likes America and thinks that moving elsewhere would be too expensive.

I didn’t call America ‘inferior’ I just heard other people think that America was a ‘bad country’ therefore I headed on this forum to see what others would find ‘bad’ about it.

I personally don’t like living in America because I feel unsafe in my school, encounter people saying “Are you Chinese or asian?” (Racism in general) Etc, even though I’ve lived in America for more than half my life I still feel homesick.

I have lived in America all my life it's all I know so I won't know how to comment on that.

Yes there are a lot of ignorant people but as far as I understand there are places that are a lot worse All of Latin America comes to mind to Africa to Asia and even Europe.

The only other place I could say that is similar is Canada and that's because they are next door.

Would I like things to be better yes would I want to leave America no.

    • Not the OP either but:

Whole bunch of European countries, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, South Korea, Canada, etc.

No gun nonsense, less obesity, no Trumpinators, better healthcare, less religious nuts, less superiority complex/world police syndrome, higher standards of living, less crime/peaceful, many are smaller in land area and population so more localised and cultural, richer histories, world heritage sites, no 'murica accents and mispronunciations, other languages, actual global sports, better education, traditional crafts, etc.

Sorry but as a citizen of the U.S., I have to disagree. It is inferior for the reasons that JellyBeanBandit cited. Your reasons missed the mark by a kilometer.
