I met this amazing, hot Jamaican while on vacation last June. We kept in touch when I came back home. We talk 3 to 5 times a day! One thing led to another and we fell for each other. I went to visit earlier this year cuzz I missed him. He proposed to me, gave me a beatiful ring! I said yes! We are working on getting his visa so that we can get married and start a life together here. I don't want anyone here, I want him! Is it normal to be in love and engaged to someone in another country and that I don't get to see?

    Jamaica is a beatiful country to visit! But living there will be out of the question, way of life is hard, lots of poverty, hardly any jobs, transportation is horrible... It would be like taking a step back, no future there.

    I'm an american, (western european/white) and I have absolutely no desire to be with an indian woman even though I've known a few. That makes as much sense to me as you only wanting this jamaican guy. Good luck, go for it.

    Your feelings are normal. however, you might want to look into the sex tourism industry in Jamaica and see if you can find some parallels to your story. Your situation is very common.

    My friend went through the same thing, they got married and he came here, started chasing all the cute girls and left her! I'm not saying your dude will do that, just keep your eyes open!!!!
