Why don't i feel love between real life?

Well...Lately I've been thinking and this is very hard to explain but...I don't feel love, I mean when I see my dad I think: "Do I really love my dad?" And I feel nothing, when I'm with my Boyfriend, he kisses me but I feel nothing! But when I watch Animes, I fall in love with the characters! I don't feel love in Reality, is that normal?

Your more then normal. Your human, and if you feel love by watching anime and having a connection with the characters thats all good. Love comes in different forms, shapes, sizes and ways and everyone needs to be loved and love.

I've felt that same way for a long time. I will get tears in my eyes while watching a movie all the time. Yet my Dad is very ill(basically alzheimers) and I feel sort of numb about it. It seems sad but not as sad as it should. I think it must be some slight personality disorder that dissociates us from real life or something. Perhaps I'm scared of investing myself in real life so instead I substitute with books and movies. I wondered if anyone else felt this way.

But seriously, we take our parents for granted, so you can't really base your feeling of love like that. If you imagined your parents gone, you would feel a heartache, and that's how you know how you truly love something - could you bear to let them go?

Don't worry - don't think of it as normal and not normal, think of it as unique and not unique, because everyone and everything is unique, so nothing is not unique, which means everyone is different and we shouldn't have to vote to choose what we should choose ourself.

    Do I make sense?

    ...

    I don't think so.

I think it's normal, some people just don't feel this emotion in real life, others like myself, don't at all. I mean romantic love, the love for parents is a different and much better thing.

I think it's abnormal not to feel any love for anybody ... I felt love a few months ago, and I was so surprised at how it felt, cuz I had never loved anyone before. too badly, the feeling faded too soon. but I hate feeling empty and neutral towards anybody. I loved loving someone and actually caring for something in my life, at least while it lasted...

yes it normal! its sooooo much easier to love something that doesn't fight with you or piss you off or boss you around. pets, book characters, celebrities etc never piss you off. you parents do! their real! there trying to raise you. relax.

i wouldnt say you were abnormal, it is a bit odd but i can see how you fall in love with fantasy characters because they are 'superhuman' in a way..they can do things we cant, and eventualy you could think humans were just inferior to them i guess. In the end if you didnt love your bf you should leave him though or you'll only hurt him.
